This course is designed for personnel with a minimum 10 years upstream drilling and completions experience, with five of them
in deepwater drilling operations, including:
Senior Tool Pusher Drilling/Operations/Engineering Other operations-oriented operator,
Offshore Rig Superintendent/Manager Superintendents/Managers contractor and service company
Senior Company Man Subsea Engineers, Managers, personnel who may be included in a
Senior Rigsite/Drillsite Manager Supervisors, Senior Drilling Personnel well control event scenario
Wild Well developed the Advanced Subsea Well Control course as part of the IADC WellCAP Plus Program that uses a
methodological discovery process to improve critical thinking and problem-solving skills in subsea well control.

IADC Requirements for WellCAP Plus Participants
All participants must provide evidence of having previously obtained at least two (2) Solving real world well control
internationally recognized qualifying supervisory level well control certificates (IADC problems using a methodical

The participant must be currently involved in relevant operations, i.e., employed as a
toolpusher, drilling engineer, drilling superintendent, workover supervisor, etc.
Participants must take an approved supervisory level entrance exam that meets all existing IADC WellCAP guidelines. Those
who fail this exam will be allowed to participate in the course but will only receive a certificate if they successfully pass a re-test
of the entrance exam prior to the completion of the WellCAP Plus course.
Participants successfully completing the program will be awarded a WellCAP Plus Well Control Certificate at the same
certification level and type coverage as the supervisory certificate currently held. There will be no upgrades allowed. Also, once
taken, the WellCAP Plus course cannot be repeated for a period of three (3) years.
No additional tests are required at the conclusion of the course unless a retest of the entrance exam is required.
