How Preparation Can Help Beat Cancer

Cancer patients and their families often experience financial and emotional stress on the road to
recovery. There are more than 50 financial and legal resources to help minimize their financial
pressure. Emotional anxiety can be reduced by understanding cancer-related information, including
stages of cancer, tests, and types of treatments. Living Life Academy has opened enrollment in their
course, “How Preparation Can Help Beat Cancer,” to answer many of the questions cancer
patients ask.

Carlsbad, CA, June 28, 2018 --(PR.com)-- The National Cancer Institute estimates 1,700,000 Americans
will receive a cancer diagnosis in 2018.

When you first hear those three words, “You have cancer,” your world feels like it is in a tailspin. The
sudden emotional stress can be overwhelming for cancer patients, their family, and advocates. There are
so many important decisions to be made. Thoughts of financial issues soon become very frightening. Will
I be able to continue working? What will my insurance cover? What extra expenses will I have for
transportation, medicine, child care, medical tests? Do I need a second opinion? The language of cancer is
new to most of us: oncology, immunotherapy, biopsy, MRI, PET, T-cells, tumors, blood cancers and so
many other medical terms.

Living Life Academy has created an online course for patients and their advocates, titled, “How
Preparation Can Help Beat Cancer.” Taught by John Livingstone, a survivor of a terminal cancer
diagnosis, the course offers ten lessons on the topics important to minimizing the financial and emotional
stress experienced by people diagnosed with cancer.

John Livingstone, Senior Instructor at Living Life Academy states, “Those taking the course will learn
about second and third medical opinions, being prepared financially, finding the best oncologists across
America, the stages of cancer, types of treatment, how to research their cancer and more than 50 potential
sources of monetary help for copays, deductibles, medication, rent, food, childcare, transportation and
more.”

“How Preparation Can Help Beat Cancer” is a course that a cancer survivor can go back and refer to as
issues arise. Many former students have enthusiastically commented that the course was very helpful in
saving money, explaining the possible medical treatments in layman's terms, and reducing the stress that
comes with not understanding their cancer diagnosis.
