documents in Annex 1 to this particular specifications.

Elevator Safety Works

basic safety requirements for elevators ( TO BE INCLUDED IN THE UNIT PRICE FOR
RELEVANT ITEM) to ensure well-being of elevator either in normal or abnormal situation
especially while electricity is not steady in Gaza and cause many faults at electricity
equipment. The following features HAVE TO be ensured in all elevators:
1. Intercom, battery operated, connected either with guards room

5. Rails, stainless steel, on elevator sides;
6. Door key to control access when needed;
7. Ensure functionality and high quality of elevator main components: shaft, cabin, cabin
operating panel, over speed governor (inverter), light curtain, overload sensor, over travel
protection, buffer springs, fan, auto-break, emergency lock key;
8. Elevator should be supplemented with signs for:
a. Braille signage on buttons;

Water Purification Unit

The purification unit works on a reverse osmosis basis, the system should include all necessary
protection devices in addition to pre-treatment and post treatment techniques, the sequence of
operation can be divided into three stages:

a. Pre-treatment Stage which includes the following steps:

1. Raw water is extracted from underground well tanks by means of primary pump.
2. Water enters a three stage pre-treatment process (sand filter, carbon filter and sediment
filter) to improve raw water quality before entering system membranes.
3. Antiscalant is added before high pressure pump as a scale inhibitor to protect
membranes from scaling

b. Filtration stage: on this stage raw water should pass through high pressure pump to RO
unit membranes, due to the high pressure water turns into permeate water with low
pressure and brine water with a high pressure.

c. Post treatment stage: on this stage permeate water should pass through different processes
as follows:
1. Disinfection process: Chlorine is added to disinfect water from contaminates and
microbiological parts.
2. Mineralization process: Permeate water passes through limestone filter to added
required minerals to have a mineral water at the end.
3. Removing chlorine: Permeate water passes through carbon filter to remove chlorine
taste and odors from drinking water to be suitable for people without any effects on
disinfection process.
4. This system has zero waste water as brine water is used for domestic tanks at roof.
5. Spare Parts and Consumable materials (supply FULLY of this item is included in the
price unit year for the period from the substantial completion certificate until issuing
the final acceptance certificate):
5.1. Antiscalant for Brackish water units
Antiscalant is added as a pre-treatment process in desalination units in order to protect
membranes from scaling
• Tank capacity: 60 liter
• Quantity of sodium Antiscalant added to 60 liter of water: 1 liter
• Pulse capacity: 1mL/dose
• Pump dosage: 1 pulse every 25 seconds
• Quantity to be dosed every 1 hour : 0.144 Liter
• 60 liter will serve for 416.6 operation hours
it’s recommended to add 1 liter of Antiscalant after 416.6 operation hours
5.2. Antiscalant for Sea water units
Antiscalant is added as a pre-treatment process in desalination units in order to protect
membranes from scaling
• Tank capacity: 60 liter
• Quantity of sodium Antiscalant added to 60 liter of water: 2 liter
• Pulse capacity: 1mL/dose
• Pump dosage: 1 pulse every 25 seconds
• Quantity to be dosed every 1 hour : 0.144 Liter
• 60 liter will serve for 416.6 operation hours

4|Page
So it’s recommended to add 2 liter of Antiscalant after 416.6 operation hours

5.3. Chlorine
The water well disinfected by means of chlorine by adding sodium hypochlorite 12.5% to
200 liter of water, the calculation will be as follows:
• Tank capacity: 60 liter
• Quantity of sodium hypochlorite 12.5% added to 200 liter of water: 2 liters
• Pulse capacity: 1mL/dose
• Pump dosage: 1 pulse every 25 seconds
• Quantity to be dosed every 1 hour : 0.144 Liter
• 60 liter will serve for 416.6 operation hours
