Asthma

Asthma is a common long-term inflammatory disease of the airways of the lungs. It is


characterized by variable and recurring symptoms, reversible airflow obstruction, and
bronchospasm. Symptoms include episodes of wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, and
shortness of breath.

Treatment of rapidly worsening symptoms is usually with an inhaled short-acting beta-2


agonist such as salbutamol and corticosteroids taken by mouth. In very severe cases,
intravenous corticosteroids, magnesium sulphate, and hospitalization may be required.

Lung Cancer

Lung cancer, also known as lung carcinoma, is a malignant lung tumour characterized by
uncontrolled cell growth in tissues of the lung. This growth can spread beyond the lung by
the process of metastasis into nearby tissue or other parts of the body.

Signs and symptoms which may suggest lung cancer include:


 Respiratory symptoms: coughing, coughing up blood, wheezing,
or shortness of breath.
 Systemic symptoms: weight loss, weakness, fever, or clubbing of the fingernails.

Treatment of lung cancer refers to the use of medical therapies, such as surgery, radiation,
percutaneous ablation, and palliative care, alone or in combination, in an attempt to cure or
lessen the adverse impact of malignant neoplasms originating in lung tissue
Bronchitis
Bronchitis is inflammation of the bronchi (large and medium-sized airways) in the lungs.
Symptoms include coughing up mucus, wheezing, shortness of breath, and chest
