Composition
You are a nurse working in a public hospital. You have recently started your night shift and
faced up to the lack of responsibility of your day-shift colleague: unfilled medical reports,
complaining patients, and dirty medical equipment. Write a letter of complaint to the manager of
the hospital noticing him about the situation. Do not exceed 150 words.

With lots of reluctance, I am writing this letter to you as a final resort. This letter is regarding a
formal complaint against my day-shift colleagues from the Pediatric Ward.
Since I have started working here, I have been dealing with the lack of responsibility of my
colleagues from the day-shift. When I start my shift, I find dirty medical equipment, improperly
disposed of expired drugs and many unfilled medical reports. These things make the night shift
more complicated, as we do not have all medical information available and we are prone to make
mistakes.
Also, many of my patients complain about the treatment they have received during the day. They
say that the nurses are rude and unprofessional with them.
I request your urgent attention in this matter, so we can improve the level of medical care
provided in our hospital.
Yours truly,
Diana Petrescu
