RENAULT NISSAN Alliance CMF−A Design Unit Chennai May 2016 – July 2016
• Ensured the initial compliance of brake system with UNECE and Indian Standard regulations including safe
stopping distance and less than 50 kg pedal effort in the event of assistive system failure
• Synthesized Brake System Design Simulator for a 7 seat car
• Achieved the maximum possible deceleration 0.8 g without losing directional stability
• Part of the PPAP team to choose supplier and install ABS unit in an existing non-ABS vehicle
GE Aviation- Global Research Centre, Bangalore May 2017 – July 2017
• Developed a mesh of accuracy up to 25 μm in boundary layers for a supersonic ejector in ANSYS ICEM CFD
• Performed bench-marking simulations for varied temperatures and back pressures of ejector in ANSYS FLUENT
• Developed a mathematical tool for calculating ejector performance within an error of 5% with experimental data
Suspension Design Engineer, Formula SAE Electric Racing Jan’ 2016 – Jan’ 2018
• Designed the first ever electric racing car to represent IIT Madras in Formula SAE events
• Ranked 3rd best cost effective and sustainable electric car design in India at Formula Bharat 2018, Coimbatore
• Designed an all-wheel independent suspension system using ADAMS CAR and MATLAB simulations
• Achieved roll gradient of 0.8 degrees/g with a double anti-roll bar design compared with 2 degrees/g of road cars
• Reduced weight of suspension system by 50% using aluminum components designed with safe FEA load results

Automotive Control Course Project (Guide: Prof. Shankar Ram, Engineering Design Dept.) Aug’ 2016 – Nov’ 2018
• Designed a PID controller to give steering and braking inputs for an autonomous car in a curved road
• Achieved path error of less than 5% and minimum safe distance from vehicle in front at any speed
• Designed an active suspension control using LQR optimization to minimize vehicle vertical travel and jerk
• Reduced body travel and jerk by one-fourth using active suspension over conventional suspension
Turbine Design Course Project (Guide: Prof. Dhiman Chatterjee, Mechanical Engg. Dept.) Aug’ 2016 – Nov’ 2018

• Designed a 5 MW Axial flow Kaplan turbine given the water head of 30 metres
• Generated the blade profile and curvature achieving the target efficiency of 80%
• Computed the blade twist angles and achieved non-stalling attack angles for the blades
