Montserrat Rius y Sofía Gómez Stage 1 – Desired Results Established Goals: Encourage Spanish teachers to collaborate with the Science teachers in order to work the contents of these subjects with the students in Spanish.
Understandings: Essential Questions:
That the students will be benefited from - How can the Spanish teachers amplifying some of the contents incorporate these contents in their (vocabulary) of Science in their mother subjects? tongue. - How many do we need so that this measure is effective?
Stage 2 – Assessment Evidence
- Natural and Social Science notebook in Spanish, that the students will use to write the vocabulary of these two subjects. Through: - Years 1 and 2: Drawings, printouts, acting, realia... - Years 3 and 4: Mind-maps, drawings, presentations, realia... - Years 5 and 6: Researches, time-lines, dictations, summaries, mind-maps, presentations, realia… Through all these activities the students will be assessed in their knowledge of the vocabulary taught in Science, in their mother tongue.
Stage 3 – Action Plan
Actions: - Before starting every unit of Science, meet with the Spanish teachers in order to coordinate the timing and the key words that he or she can focus on and work with the students. - Arrange trips to museums and natural landscapes in order to spread their knowledge through practical experiences. - Work the Spanish history through role plays in Spanish. - Create geography projects (presentations, maps…).
