m edia; ther efor e r esulting in decently fair r eputations

w e all r eally hate the eighties.

technology. If you have been on the new s or social
m edia r ecently you can see all the stuff people ar e
cr eating. Well, w hen I say take over , I don't m ean

lives. I said if you looked at the new s or social
m edia, w ell that?s technology. Accor ding to
telegr aph.co.uk, the aver age per son spends 90
m inutes a day on social m edia, and that num ber is
r apidly incr easing. M ost schools use Sm ar tBoar ds
and com puter s, and even though schools use them
for good r easons, it still is technology.
Video gam es like For tnite and other s ar e
sucking kids in and m aking them spend tons of
tim e on the scr eens w hich is taking over their
lives. Accor ding to The Atlantic, dur ing the year of
2013 90% of adults had a cell phone! And that w as
5 year s ago.
The longer w e spend on scr eens m akes us
sleep-depr ived and that could lead to health
issues, w hich could lead to bad things. M any
gam er s stay up all night, and as technology
becom es m or e advanced it w ill becom e m or e
addicting, m aking even m or e people stay up all
night. Technology also affects per sonal and social
life. One of the upsides of technology is that w ith
gam es like For tnite som e people w ho w er e m isfits
begin to find social gr oups. But it can also m ake it
w or se, on places like Tw itter dr am a could star t
and people could lose key fr iendships. Ther e ar e
som e apps that com panies ar e developing to lim it
technology usage, but by the r apid incr ease in
people using technology those apps w ill pr obably
not help.
In conclusion, I think technology is taking
over. And soon m aybe ter m inator s w ill com e for
us!

Ben Rev i ew s: Am er i ca: Th e Gr eat War (1918)

This film , in my opinion, is not as good as
the fir st 2 film s. The w hole set-up of the plot feels
unr ealistic to m e. The assassination of som e
Austr ian pr ince w ho happened to be on a
specific str eet on a specific day r ight in fr ont of
the assassin w ho w as conveniently at a cafe
eating a sandw ich w hen suddenly the Pr ince?s
car stops LITERALLY in fr ont of the assassin.
Geez, this plot takes a lot of liber ties to get the
stor y star ted.
Another com plaint about this is that w e
only see Am er ica in the last quar ter of the m ovie,
even though this m ovie is supposed to be ABOUT
Am er ica! It doesn?t get better fr om her e, either.
In the beginning of the m ovie, the plot gr ow s
stale, as the ar m ies in the film bar ely gain any
victor ies over each other. W hile the advent of so
called ?tr ench w ar far e? has just been invented to
aid in the film ?s dr am a, I feel that this is just a
useless w ay to m ake the film m or e epic.
The film also focuses m ostly on one fr ont.
Since this is the fir st global w ar , it w ould?ve been
inter esting to see the differ ent fr onts acr oss the
w or ld. But nope, w e ar e just stuck m ajor ly in the
Eur opean Fr ont. It feels like Dir ector s Woodr ow
W ilson and his team w anted to scr ap the entir e
film because they w er en?t included in that
por tion of the film . W hile I w ill adm it the final
par t of the film w as action-packed and
dow n-r ight aw esom e, it doesn?t m ake up for the
other 3/4ths of the film .
Over all, I give this film a 5/10 and 43% on

m ust appear only once in each of 3 boxes, 9 r ow s, and 9 colum ns. Usually, a solver is given som e
num ber s alr eady filled in and then w or ks ar ound them . It?s the kind of puzzle you see in a new spaper
w ith it?s cousins ken ken, cr ossw or ds, and jum bles. But w her e does this new spr int staple com e fr om ?
Well, not Japan, as the nam e m ight lead you to believe. Sudoku can actually find its r oots in
Sw itzer land w ith the gr eat eighteenth centur y Sw iss m athem atician Leonhar d Euler.
Leonhar d Euler w as a founder of abstr act m athem atics, w hich is m ath that is about
hypothetical things, and w as a gr eat w r iter on calculus and other advanced m athem atical subjects. He
invented a for bear er of m oder n Sudoku called the ?Gr eco-Rom an squar e? or the ?Latin squar e?. In a
latin squar e, a set of num ber is ar r anged in a squar e so that each num ber appear s only once in each
colum n and r ow. (These Latin Squar es evolved fr om the tr aditional chinese ?M agic Squar e? w her e
ever y r ow , colum n, and lar ge diagonal add to m ake a specific num ber ). For exam ple, a Latin squar e of
?the or der tw o? looks like this:
In the fir st squar e, 1 appear s in the top r ow
and the bottom r ow and once in each
colum n. It does appear in the diagonals, but
that is not a constr aint of the Latin Squar e.
In the second squar e, you see the sam e set
of num ber s and they appear only once in

Sudoku is effectively a Latin squar e
w ith tw o changes: fir st of all, thr ee
thr ee-by-thr ee boxes ar e added to Sudoku,
and the num ber s 1-9 can appear only once
in each of these ?r egions?. Second of all, som e of the num ber s in a Sudoku puzzle ar e m issing so that
the puzzler has to fill them in to com plete the puzzle, w her eas in Latin Squar es or M agic Squar es m uch
of the beauty is in the final pr oduct instead of the pr ocess.
By the late nineteenth centur y, a Sudoku-style puzzle had appear ed in a Fr ench new spaper , but
it w ouldn't appear in the US until 1979, and it w ouldn?t tr avel to Japan until after that. But how did
Sudoku get its Japanese nam e and connotation if a Sw iss m an planted Sudoku?s seeds?
Tur ns out, those seeds w er e w ater ed in Indiana, of all places. How ar d Gar ns, an Indian
ar chitect, cr eated a puzzle called ?Num ber Place?. His puzzle w as published in 1979 in Dell Pencil
Puzzles and Wor d Gam es. Though the puzzle eventually becam e a global phenom enon, Gar ns did not
live to see this, as he died in 1989.
As ?Num ber Place? took off, it spr ead acr oss the globe w er e it eventually hit Japan. In Japan, the
English title ?Num ber Place? w as, in som e places, r eplaced w ith the Japanese ?Suuji w a dokushin ni
kagir u?, m eaning, ?the num ber s m ust occur once only? or ?only single num ber s allow ed?. The w or d
?Sudoku? is an abbr eviation of that phr ase and m eans ?single num ber ?. Though m ost of the w or ld calls
the iconic num ber puzzles Sudoku, in Japan it is called ?Num ber Place? or ?nanpur e?, the Japanese

a long tim e have m onopoly?s on houses. Som e have 2
or 3 houses, w hile other s have only 1. And you don?t
get paid a salar y on top of the houses you get m oney
fr om . If you don?t get any houses and you can?t sell,
you ar en?t getting saved.
Real estate is a business for char ism atic
people. If you ar e an agent w ho can?t dr aw people in
w ith your per sonality, then it isn?t the business for
you. You r ely on your per sonality and instinct in
know ing w hat people w ant. You have to m ake the
house seem as tem pting as possible. If you can get a
house, tr y to choose one w ith a good location (i.e.
not on a highw ay or in a bad school distr ict), lots of
bedr oom s and bathr oom s (a full bathr oom incr eases
the value of a house by about a hundr ed gr and), and
if they have kids, a lar ge playr oom is sur e to attr act
attention.

I w as looking on Zillow today, Niko
inspir ed m e to because he w as talking about
r eal estate. If you don't know w hat Zillow is,
its just w her e houses for sale ar e show n. It's
pr etty cool. Som etim es houses even have 3D
tour s. I per sonally like to look at the r eally
expensive houses, because it's fun to see how
r ich people ar e. So w hen I thought of the
r ichest place I knew , I looked up Wellesley
M A. Just in case you live in Wellesley, this
isn't m eant as a diss or anything, I don't
know w hy it w ould be. Having m oney isn't
som ething to be asham ed of, and I'm not
accusing anyone of being snobby. Ok, you
get the point, I?m tr ying har d not to offend
anyone.
Ther e's an option on Zillow to see the
m ost expensive houses. So, I chose that
option. I expected to m aybe see the m ost
expensive house at a m ax of thr ee m illion
dollar s. Boy, w as I off. The fir st and m ost
expensive house for sale in Wellesley w as
listed at appr oxim ately $6,895,000. Yeah
alm ost seven m illion dollar s! The estim ated
m or tgage w as 27,968 per m onth. Holy heck
that is a lot of m oney.
This house, 62 Ledgew ays Wellesley M A,
has six bedr oom s, 5 full bathr oom s and tw o
half baths. This house is gor geous. By far the
pr ettiest house I?ve ever seen. W hile it's far
fr om my inter ior design style and
ar chitectur e pr efer ence, I?d be lying if I said
it w asn?t w or th the pr ice. If you get a chance,
look up this house w hile you can. Its
decor ated in soft w hite and gr ey color s. It's
not too m oder n and not too r ustic. And all
the couches and beds look so soft.
I w ould never buy this house, nor do I
w ant to. But all I can say is that this house is
ver y w ell cr eated. I hope w hoever m oves in
can r eally enjoy their new life in this
stunning m ansion.

Walker has been caught attem pting to take the souls of ten Daily Double students. (Editor's Note:
this is not true.) We w ill not list their nam es her e for secur ity r easons, but please be aw ar e that this is
ser ious. All ten of the students w er e successfully r escued, w ith only m inor injur y to their souls taken;
they ar e expected to m ake a full r ecover y by next m onth. This type of tr easonous behavior can not go
on at CRCAP. This is supposed to be a safe com m unity, w her e people don't need to w or r y about their
soul being taken, yet Walker is still not fir ed for this outr ageous behavior.
Since the staff ar en't doing their job, (Editor's Note: they are) I have m ade som e suggestions for
the cam per s, to help them stay safe. Fir st off, tr y putting up m ental defenses. This can be anything
fr om w hisper ing ?Not today, evil m ango? in the m ir r or ever y m or ning, or br inging char m s that
counter Walker ?s vile m ango m agick into cam p (Char m s include 2 dollar bills, half full ther m oses of
lem onade, and avocados). You can also tr y per for m ing a pr otection spell on Walker ever y m or ning, by
going up to him and chanting ?M ango m ango go, aw ay, steal my soul som e other day? ten tim es, w hile
m aintaining dir ect eye contact w ith Walker (It is advised that after the ten chants, you br eak eye
contact for your ow n safety). (Editor's Note: I will definitely get bored of this and not maintain eye
contact with you for ten of those)
If you don't think you can do any of the m ethods above, it is advised that you avoid the Daily
Double r oom , Walker , and any food w hich contains m ango, for your ow n per sonal safety. If you can't
pull that off either (let's say one of your classes is in the Daily Double r oom ), then tr y and per for m any
am azing feat in fr ont of Walker. This w ill stun him , causing him to not steal your soul for a little bit.
(Effects ar e estim ated to w ear off after 1.5 blocks, so if you ar e w ith him for longer than that, tr y
per for m ing m ultiple tr icks.)
You can also tr y and tr ick him w ith new technology. Rem em ber , Walker com es fr om the ancient
Egyptian per iod of tim e, so he's not quite caught up w ith all the new tech. Appar ently, putting a VR
headset on him w ill distr act him for som e tim e, along w ith blasting dubstep in his ear. We r ecom m end
that you do both of these things, for your safety. If you?r e VERY concer ned about your soul?s safety, w e
r ecom m end you do ever ything on this list, or just sw itch to a differ ent cam p.
