Good morning, I’m Maximiliano Ramirez and I’m just outside the offices of Senda in Santiago

to give the result of a study.

An increase of 11% recorded the cases of problematic alcohol and drug use in the child-
adolescent population in Chile between 2015 and 2016, according to Senda data.

The national director of Senda, Patricio Bustos, explained that although the increase has been
constant during the last years and it would have its explanation in situations where children
and young people are exposed to loneliness and little dialogue with their parents.

The psychologist Giorgio Angostini says that young people who are exposed to solitude, find
refuge in groups of friends where the consumption of drugs is a requirement of income and
permanence.

In terms of prevention, Senda has a telephone service line for the reception of consumer cases
and also allows access to treatment programs for the child-adolescent population.

This was my report, see you soon.
