Re: Flexible Pipe Couplings

Dear Eng. Khidr,

This memo is to address your concerns regarding the use of flexible pipe connections in Fire Pump installations.

NFPA 20 does not require the use of flexible pipe connections. As a manufacturer of NFPA compliant Fire Fighting
pumps, we do not recommend or discourage their use.

Proper mounting and alignment procedures should be followed. These procedures will eliminate most causes of system
vibration.

Fire Pumps are Emergency Service equipment. Some additional noise and vibration in the pipe system is of little concern
where life and property are at risk.
