1. How can you describe Skyline? Why? (ano ito? Seryoso tanong ito sa contest????

)
To describe Skyline Hospital and Medical Center in the most appropriate manner…
Three things comes into my mind…
As an employee it is “maternal”… it nurtures us like a mother to her child. It provides, it
support.. it sustains.
As a bulakenyo, it is an “inovation”… it brought hope to the people of san jose del monte in
uplifting its healthcare system. It is committed, it is passionate, it is here.
As a client… “genuine care”… living up to its motto of putting back the care in health care.

2. How would you measure success?

In a world where material things possessed by a person define the meaning of success… in a
generation where happiness depends in the success one has achieved. Success and happiness
has become synonymous. However, one must reflect that happiness is NOT about material
things alone… it is about love, the love of a mother to a child, a child to his/her mother, love of
another person to another one. Love that makes us smile during darkest times and the love that
keeps us standing when we are weighed down by trials.

So how to measure success? Unconventional as it sounds it is the happiness that emanates from
love and being content in what you have and having a thankful heart for what you will still have
as a result of passion and hard work.

3. What makes your profession unique?

I believe that all every profession is unique. Each profession is rooted in compassion… in
uplifting lives… in creating a better world.
But what makes Nursing a unique profession? I believe it is through the integration of intellect,
the heart and our hands. Intellect to do what is scientifically accepted, heart to do what is
humane and compassionate and hands to do it personally with the tender loving care that only
nurses can do.

4. What makes SHMC different and why? (kaumay ang tanong na ito… sino gumawa nito? Ano ito
elementary and mga naglalaban??????)

SHMC is different among all neighboring healthcare institutions because of one thing “family”.

In the current race to be on the top of the healthcare delivery system… with the advancement of
technology in uplifting healthcare and updates on patient care… in the peak of healthcare
marketing fiasco on who is better…. We remain to be a “family”… united this hospital was built
by a family… who extended their arms and made us all into one happy family… igniting our
passion and commitment to be of service to our patients… creating and leading a vision of being
the preferred hospital north of metro manila.
5. How would like your stay in SHMC to be remembered?

I would like my name (state your name) to be remembered as synonymous with the word
EXCELLENCE here in SHMC. Someone who did not lay contented to be at par… someone whose
potentials have flourished to its fullest, a trailblazer in healthcare like SHMC while being
compassionate to the people who mattered to us – our patients. Yet as highly ambitious as it may
sound. I just like to be remembered as this --- a person/ a nurse who have touched lives… someone
who has been an agent of healing and at the same time humble enough to learn along the process.
Someone who have done her work to the best of his/her abilities without thinking about the
credits.

6. If you will address one SHMC management… who and what message?

I would like to address our Executive Vice President – Mrs. Editha Reyes… my message will be one
thing “I AM A FAN”. Should I explain why?

In my months/ years of being an employee of SHMC… she has been a servant leader. She is a
person who no longer needs to prove herself. Her presence alone emanates service excellence…
She is a role model to all nurses and to all women…. that we do not need to be 6 feet tall to be
big in what we do. We just need to have the right reason and passion and everything will follow.

7. How would you promote SHMC?

To promote SHMC in my own simple way is to… walk the talk. To be a living proof that we CAN
give excellent care to our clients. Each of us is an ambassador of SHMC and to play this role entails
us to be an advocate of health and to be compassionate professionals. We must be the hands that
works to make the vision of SHMC be a reality for our patients. This is not to help the management
promote the hospital alone… but to give our very best as healthcare professionals to each patient
we encounter no matter how short or long it may be. It is walking the talk rather just talking.

8. In your own way, what makes SHMC special? (ANO BA ITONG TANONG NA ITO?????????)

9. How will you describe yourself in dealing with patients?

In my personal perspective, the word dealing with patients is a less appealing word to use… it is a
phrase that suggest handling patients as commodities. I prefer the word treating or caring for
patients. As a nurse we see each patient as unique. Therefore, as compassionately as possible I
ensure that I give them holistic care regardless of their medical issues, treating them equally
regardless of their age, personal beliefs, socio-economic status. It is more than just treating their
physical illnesses or diseases… it is uplifting their spirits that they will be healed and if healing is
not possible that their dignities and well-being are maintained…. And above all that “I CARE FOR
THEM”.
