WALK-IN-WRITTEN TEST/INTERVIEW
The following posts are to be filled purely on temporary basis from willing eligible candidates for the
study titled “Establishment of Resource Centre/Hub for conducting Health Technology
Assessment” implemented by this institute with DHR funding as detailed thereon.

Name of the post Senior Consultant (Economic evaluation specialist)

Essential qualification Professional having Masters degree in Health Economics/Economics/
Econometrics or Masters degree in the relevant subject
(Demography/MBA in hospital/finance/health management) with course
work in Health Economics with a minimum 10 years experience in the
relevant field and should have published papers OR
retired Govt employees drawing pay in the 6th CPC pay band 15600-
39100+ minimum Grade Pay Rs.5400/- at the time of retirement and
having at least 20 years research/teaching experience in Health
Economics.
Desirable PhD in Health Economics with 5 years experience in the field.
Experience of developing and critically appraising economic models
relating to Health Technology Assessment (HTA), experience of
teaching and training in health economics including preparation of
teaching materials, proven experience of communicating complex
information (health economics) to multidisciplinary audiences. A strong
understanding of the social, political, economic and technical context
within which National and State health programme benefit packages
operate within India. Proficiency in writing reports and publishing
research papers.
Age limit Not exceeding 70 years.
Emoluments Consolidated salary Rs.80,000/- p.m
Nature of Duties The consultant would play a crucial role in HTA capacity building
strategy by providing technical assistance through teaching and
training, organising and contributing to meetings, workshops and
conferences, and providing strategic guidance and technical advice to
local academic and policy collaborators. The consultant will be a highly
competent and motivated self-starter who is able to work independently.
The consultant will be required to provide direct technical assistance to
local partners to support all phases of the HTA programme of work
agreed with NIRT, with focus on health economics. Also to develop and
deliver teaching and training programs related to health economics to
local technical staff and collaborators, help raise awareness of HTA in
India, and the work of NIRT towards building capacity for HTA.
Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a very
diverse range of parties in India.

application form affixing a passport size colour photograph along with self attested copies of age proof,
educational qualifications (from matriculation onwards), certificates of experience related to nature of
job, caste certificate (for OBC candidate, creamy layer/non-creamy layer certificate as per Govt of India
guidelines) and a fee of Rs.100/- (drawn in favour of Director, NIRT, Chennai) in the shape of demand
draft from any Nationalized Bank. SC/ST, physically disabled candidates and women candidates are
