These Inca ritual offering vessel are referred to as
Conopas; these are in the shape of llamas. They were
hand-carved from a fine dark brown grained stone, then polished with sand and water. They have a hole in the back called a "qocha" (lagoon). The conopa was used for offerings during the "haywarisqa" ceremony (ceremony of offerings): llama fat and blood were mixed with coca leaves and presented to the gods.
