Mechanism of Action:
Dosage: Inhibits inflammatory cells
250mcg/ml nebule
and mediators, possibly by
decreasing influx into nasal
passages, bronchial walls,
or the intestines. As a result,
Route: nasal or airway inflammation
Nebulized decreases. Oral inhalation
form also inhibits mucus
secretion in airways,
decreasing the amount and
viscosity of sputum.

Side Effects or Adverse
Indication:
To manage symptoms of
seasonal or perennial allergic
rhinitis; To prevent or provide
maintenance therapy in chronic
bronchial asthma; Nebulized
inhalation; To reduce remission
in patients with active mild to
moderate distal ulcerative colitis
extending up to 40cm from the
anal verge
Contraindication:
Hypersensitivity to budesonide
or its components, renal septal
ulcers or nasal surgery or
trauma; status astmaticus or
other acute asthma episodes.

Reactions
CNS: Amnesia, asthenia,
benign intracranial
hypertension, change in mood,
dizziness, fatigue, fever,
headache
ENDO: Adrenal insufficiency,
decreased blood cortisol level,
growth suppression in children
hypercorticism
RESP: Bronchospasm,
increased cough, respiratory
tract infection
SKIN: Allergic or contact
dermatitis, maculo-papular
rash, pruritus, purpura, rash
urticaria

Do not use more often
than prescribed; do not
stop without consulting
your health
care provider.
It may take several days
to achieve good effects;
do not stop if effects are
not immediate.
Use decongestant nose
drops first if
nasal passages are
blocked.
