Este subclade se define por la presencia del marcador M167, también conocido como SRY2627. El primer autor
para poner a prueba para este marcador (mucho antes de la nomenclatura actual haplogrupo existía) fue Hurles en
1999, que dieron 1.158 hombres en diversas poblaciones. Le resultaba relativamente común entre los vascos
(13/117, 11%) y catalanes (7/32: 22%). Otros sucesos se encontraron entre otros franceses, británicos,
españoles, Béarn AIS y Alemanes .
En 2000 Rosser et al., En un estudio que evaluó 3.616 hombres en diversas poblaciones también se realizarán las
pruebas de que el mismo marcador, nombrando el haplogrupo HG22, y de nuevo se encuentran principalmente

respectivamente, confirmaron una fuerte asociación con la totalidad o la mayor parte delPirineo e Iberia oriental.
En un estudio más amplio de Portugal en 2006, con 657 hombres a prueba, Beleza et al. confirmó niveles bajos
similares en todas las regiones principales, desde el 1,5% -3,5%.

Today I found the verification that R-Z198 in on the same level as L176.2

In the Y-Haplogroup R SRY2627+ and L176.2+ Project everyone one that has
tested positive for* *L176.2 has also tested positive for Z198.
Z198 and L176.2 are descendants of DF27 which is a descendant of P312 which
is a descendant of M269 (R1b1a2)
If more members of NR did Deep Clade testing we would be able to find more
members with these R1b subclades .
