Cobra vs Devils
We had a busy week at the Cobras
last week. Darley ventured across
the bridge for our second match
for the season. The two teams
came together to support some
fundraising for a very worthy cause,
Brain Cancer. Ex Cobra girl, Faith
Cook, (now Brewer) is suffering
from the horrible illness. Faith is a
friend to many at both the Cobras
and Devils football clubs. Faith was Faith Cook (Brewer) and female
one of the first female footballers footballer Elyse Cook.

Melbourne 3340 ago! On the 19th of September, local man, Brett Williams, who has been 8/151 Gisborne Rd,
personally touched by Brain Cancer, will walk from Wodonga to Bacchus
Marsh to raise awareness and funds for the disease and honour those who Darley VIC 3340
have suffered. In support the kids all wore grey armbands or ribbons in
03 5367 5156 their hair for their matches on Sunday. We also held a family curry night
for the two clubs, a bake sale and raffle to raise money. The GB Forestry (03) 5367 5680
Cobras would like to wish Faith and her family all of our best wishes for
their journey ahead.
Last weekend the PHSA Cobra Junior football teams faced off for a second
time this season against Darley. The Baby Black Under 10s played really
strongly, they come leaps and bounds every week. The Taco Bill Under 12
reserves were no match for a very strong Darley side. They needed a lot
more run and spread. B/Marsh 0-0-0 Darley 7-6-48. The seniors played a
nail biter, drawing their match. They played a tough game but their legs
tired out and Darley came back in the dying minutes. B/Marsh 5-1-31
Darley 4-7-31. The Watson’s Bulk Logistics Under 14 Reserves won their
match using some clever footy. Elliot Missen won the courage award.
B/Marsh 3-6-24 Darley 2-2-14. The Plant Hire Solutions Under 16.5
Reserves put in another solid four quarters of footy. They were challenged
early but ran out the game really well. They showed impressive kicking
skills to share the ball around. B/Marsh 14-13-97 Darley 3-4-22. The
