To whom it may concern:

I am highly interested in pursuing a career in teaching. With experience working at the

elementary and middle school levels, as well as activities outside of the traditional classroom, I
have a diverse background with much to offer. I am certified in EC-6 with ESL.

While volunteering at Vacation Bible School at my church when I was fourteen, I began to sense
a calling on my life to nurture and teach young children. By continuing to volunteer teaching
Sunday School throughout high school, this calling became clear and I decided to major in
elementary education at Houston Baptist University.

I have learned much about education theory and classroom management at HBU, and I was able
to put this into practice while teaching summer science camps for Club SciKidz Houston. For the
past three summers I have taught content in the areas of robotics, engineering, computers,
programming, chemistry, biology, and forensics in camps for ages four through fifteen. Through
this experience I have been able to develop classroom management and instructional strategies in
a class setting. Some skills I gained include how to maintain control while also making learning
fun for the students.

Throughout my teaching experiences I have had the opportunity to use several technology based
educational resources. I have taught students how to code using Scratch and Scratch Jr. on
multiple occasions. I also have taught programming through Blockly, a block coding program
developed by Google and used by several educational outlets such as code.org and Dash and Dot
Robots. I also have a great amount of experience using various Google programs, such as Google
Slides, Google Docs, Drive, Gmail, etc. I also have taught students using the programs
Clickteam Fusion, TrackMania United, and Lego WeDo.

This spring I have had the opportunity to clinical teach at Fort Bend Christian Academy in third
grade and pre-kindergarten. I have taught several content areas within these classes.

I am excited to begin my journey as a new teacher and look forward to what the next year will
bring.

Sincerely,

Christina Greer
