Assignment aim This unit aims to provide learners with an understanding of health and
safety planning, implementation and legislation within an engineering
environment.
Purpose:

This unit has been designed to develop the learner’s awareness of the principles, planning and
implementation of health and safety practice within an industrial environment such as those to be found
in engineering production, manufacture, services and maintenance and those in the chemical, transport
and telecommunication engineering industries.
