Location words and phrases
Note when you want to use location words you have to combine them with ' zài " .
Please don't forget "zài "

Up= shàng mìan

Down = xìa mìan

In front of = qían miàn

Behind = hòu miàn

On Top of = shàng miàn

Under = xìa miàn

Near = fù jin

Opposite = dùi miàn

Left = zúo ( bīan)

Right= yòu ( bīan)

Go straight = yì zhī zôu

Straight ahead = qían miàn

North = béi

South = nán

East = dōng

West = xī

Traffic light = hóng lü dēng

Intersection = shí zhì lù kôu

Cross the street = gùo má lù

At the corner = zài zhúan jíao chù

Walk = zóu lù

Drive = kāi chē

Ride = (car , bus , other big vehicles )= chén zùo

In previous lesson , we learn (place) + zài ná lî

Now we can ask this way ná lî you +( place)

E.g where is the book store

ná lî yóu shū dìan ( ne)?

Note : ne is optional here

Where is the flower shop?

Ná lî yóu hūa dìan ( ne)?

Making phrases using " dè"

Noun phrase
Hái zî + yī fú = hái zî dè yī fú
Child + clothe = child's clothe

Chē + lún zî = chē dè lún zî

Car + wheel = car's wheel

Adjective phrase
Lán dè + tiān qì = lán dè tiān qī
Cold+ weather = cold weather
Gùi dè + fáng zî = gùi dè fáng zî
Expensive + house = expensive house

Stative verb phrase

Unlike in English and Portuguese , if we want to translate this in
English or Portuguese , we have to do it from the end.
E.g Wó + xî hūan dè + nü hái = wó xî huān dè nü hái
