Dear Dr. Chuah,

APPEAL FOR REINSTATEMENT TO RETAKE PRINCIPLE OF

MACROECONOMMIC

I am Chan Ka Fey (student ID: 13ABB01928) a student in Faculty of Business and

Finance of Bachelor of Marketing (Hons). I am writing this letter to president with the
purpose of making an appeal to retake the subject of Principle of Macroeconomic in
UTAR. This is the second time I have been terminated and hence unable to continue
studying for Year 2 Trimester 3.

Below are the reasons that lead to my termination:

1. Firstly, I have failed all my calculation paper and yet score very well in my rest
of papers. I shall admit that I am very poor in calculation paper and have made a very
wrong decision in choosing Bachelor of Finance (Hons). Therefore, I have decided to
change course to Bachelor of Marketing (Hons) as there are less calculation papers in this
course. I hoped that I change course as soon as possible in this semester and can continue
my studies without wasting any time.

2. Secondly, Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN) is the only

sources to support my study fees in UTAR. However, it is being temporary stopped
because I was under probation in previous semesters. Thus, I have to work part-time to
pay for my fees.

3. Lastly, I have been participating actively in clubs/societies and events when I am

in Year 1. Most of my time was devoted to planning and organizing events and thus lead
to poor academic performance. I am aware of that thus have made the decision to quit all
unnecessary activities and focus on my academic performance.

To rectify the above mentioned reasons, I have decided to put in more effort and train
myself to manage and arrange my daily task more efficiently beginning this trimester. I
promise that I will spend more time in doing revising before and after the lecture class.
Most importantly, I can quit from working part-time because my fees can be funded by
my dad Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

I would like to thank you for taking your time to go through my letter. I will truly
appreciate it if I can receive a reply from you as soon as possible and hope to be able to
continue studying the course that I have chosen.
