The 147th annual Washington County Fair

Each summer, the Washington
County Fair brings community mem-
bers together for traditional favorites,
such as fair food and carnival rides, as
well as friendly competition and the
opportunity to see something new.
From Aug. 1 to 5, Washington
County residents can expect to see
their friends and neighbors compete
for blue ribbons in a variety of live-
stock, garden, art and cooking events,
which are judged throughout the fair.
This year, there are also plenty of
new entertainers to check out, such
as a Johnny Cash tribute band, a
magician and a “Wizard of Oz”-themed
comedy act, and, as in past years, there
are a number of thrilling automotive
grandstand events throughout the fair.
For the full schedule of events see page
10, and for more information, visit file photo
www.washingtoncountyfair.org. Pig races are an annual favorite at the Washington County Fair, with several races planned for each day of this year’s fair.
