Questions:
My skill set is a perfect match for the job requirements. My sales skills and managerial
experience make me an ideal candidate for the position. For example, at my last job, I lead a
team, and we achieved our monthly targets just in 16days. I can bring my successes and
experiences to this job.
I could find my niche within a group and support everyone's efforts. For example, my last job
involved a lot of team projects. I was always able to recognize my teammates’ skills, and
delegated tasks that fit each person’s skills.
I have an extremely strong work ethic. When I'm working on a project, I don't want just to
meet deadlines. Rather, I prefer to complete the project well ahead of schedule. Last time, I
even earned a bonus for completing target before given time.
I pride myself on my customer service skills and my ability to resolve what could be difficult
situations. With three years of experience as a customer service associate, I have learned to
effectively understand and resolve customer issues. On a related note, I also have strong
communication skills, which help me work well with customers, team members, and
executives. I am known for being an effective team member with a talent for giving
presentations.
Delegation
“I think one area I could work on is my delegation skills. I am always so concerned about
everything being done right and on time that I can get stuck in that mentality of “If you want it
done right, do it yourself.” Unfortunately, that’s not always possible and I’ve realized that I
can slow things down if I am too controlling.
The prices at Walmart are lower than most department stores and they offer their customers
great value. The company creates so many jobs, reduces inflation, and provides great products
for families in all income ranges. I want to work in a fast-paced environment, and I also love
to support customer because I love the constant human interaction and the satisfaction that
comes from helping someone solve a problem.
My work experience there was great, and I learnt so many things from CTG Security Solutions,
as I joined as intern and then hired by the company. I left my job for further studies here in
Canada.
My department was responsible for managing the training and orientation program that is
required for all new hires. Unfortunately, a lot of the content was a bit dry when I started. It
was necessary information for people to have and the training was required, but we had a real
problem with people not completing the training — and the course evaluations were negative.
Describe a difficult situation that you faced in your career and how you dealt with it?
At my last job, a customer came in cursing and yelling-the works. I knew it was out of
frustration, so I didn't take it personally and I made sure the customer knew their concerns were
being heard. I listened carefully and apologized. She was complaining about a dress she bought
a month ago and she wanted to return, however as per the company’s policy, item could not be
returned after 15days. Then, I talk to my senior and we helped her in returning her item and
provide her with new dress, then she was very happy. It ended up being a solution where
everyone benefits.
Well I’m excited by this position at Walmart, because in five years, I’d like to be someone with
deep expertise in this sector, and I know that’s something that I’ll have an opportunity to do
here. I’m also excited to take on more managerial responsibilities in the next few years and
potentially even take the lead on some projects.
Walmart is the largest retailer in the world. They offer common goods such as groceries and
clothing. All Walmart stores have pharmacies, photo, and vision centers. Customers can shop
online. The company is ranked #1 on the Fortune 500 list in 2017. The headquarters are in
Bentonville Arkansas. Sam Walton founded it. Their motto is, “Save Money, Live Better”.
They sell quality fashion clothing called George. George is considered fashionable yet
affordable. They offer their customers a Walmart Credit Card.
Take a look at other Walmart’s jobs and find a position you can see yourself doing in 5 years. If
you sound committed to Walmart, they won’t mind spending the time to train you.
If you have any retail experience talk about it. If you have any cashier experience talk about
it. If you don’t have retail experience or any other type of experience don’t worry. Walmart
hires lots of first time workers.
Provides excellent customer service through Practicing the 10-Foot Attitude. So, we have skill
number one which is people skills.
Must maintain excellent productivity levels by scanning merchandise quickly and accurately
(skill number two: working quickly and accurately in a timely manner).
Achieving the scanning percentage goal. Attending all Cashier training sessions (skill three
which is a quick learner).
Looking at the qualification section, it states they are looking for someone with mathematical
skills notability adding and subtraction and working with decimals. This leads to skill number
four which is math skills. Note that you do not have to be a math professor to be good at
making change so state you have great math skills.
So, in the example of cashier interview when they ask why should I hire you I would state:
