    Sta. Ana Elementary School supports gender advocacy and development through budget allocation. The School GAD Coordinator attended a district meeting in November to discuss the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Children. The school implemented activities to raise awareness of this issue, such as talks, poster-making contests, and an orientation attended by Grade 6 students. A joint community-school seminar was also held with barangay officials and covered topics like anti-VAWC, juvenile delinquency, and environmental sanitation.

    NARRATIVE

    Sta. Ana Elementary School strongly supports the advocacy on Gender and
    Development. It also provides budget for the activities through the MOOE. Project
    Proposals had been approved by the Schools Division Superintendent before any
    activities were implemented.

    The School GAD Coordinator attended the District Meeting of School GAD
    Coordinators last November 11. It was presided by the District GAD Coordinator Ms.
    Cheryl Ofalsa. The main agenda was the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against
    Women and Children (VAWC).

    Sta. Ana ES staff planned and implemented different school-based activities


    such as short talk on VAWC during the Grade VI Homeroom PTA Meeting ,Poster Making
    in Grades II and III and Poster and Slogan Making Contest among the Grade VI pupils.

    The Grade VI pupils attended also the orientation of the PNP in Operation
    Tokhang held in Barangay Hall last November 15,2016.

    The school head and the GAD coordinator coordinated with the Barangay Council
    to conduct a Joint Community –School Based Gender and Development Seminar on
    November 29 wherein Anti- VAWC was one of the topics. Miss. Agnes Domingo one of
    the MSWDO officers served as the speaker on VAWC. PO2 Geraldine Navarroza talked
    about Juvenile delinquency, PO1 Roquito Sarmiento discussed the laws on prohibited
    drugs and Mrs. Luzviminda Diňo tackled about Environmental Sanitation. Participants to
    this activity were Grade VI pupils, youth, parents Barangay Council ,PTA officers and
    teachers. The expenses for the said Seminar were taken from the GAD Fund with
    counterpart from the Barangay GAD fund.

    GAD programs and projects gradually served as an avenue to enhanced


    awareness and understanding of a VAWC –free community and the expected role of
    every individual in the society.
