Question 1
Formula for calculating the mass of solutes with required concentrations is as follows:
As the molarity and volume of required solution is 0.1M and 2ml respectively, therefore
Hence the required mass to produce solutions can be found by multiplying the molarity with the molar
mass
So the required mass = 387.4279 * 0.0002 = 0.0774 g which is diluted to 2ml in a beaker with
acetonitrile.
So the required mass = 287.09 * 0.0002 = 0.0574 g which is diluted to 2ml in a beaker with acetonitrile.
Question 2
The same formula used in Question 1 can be utilized to find the mass of salts for solution preparation.
However in this question the masses of each salt in the required solution will be calculated separately in
2ml volume and then put in beaker.
As the molarity and volume of required solution is 0.01M for EDOTand 2ml respectively, therefore
So the required mass of EDOT = 142.17 * 0.00002 = 0.0028g and 0.0774 g of Bu4NPF6 are diluted to 2ml
in a beaker with acetonitrile.
b. 2ml solution of 0.1M LiNTf2 and 10-3M EDOT in acetonitrile
As the molarity and volume of required solution is 0.01M for EDOTand 2ml respectively, therefore
So the required mass of EDOT = 142.17 * 0.00002 = 0.0028g and 0.0574 g of LiNTf2 are diluted to 2ml in
a beaker with acetonitrile.
As the concentration of EDOT is same as (a) and (b) therefore, 0.0028 g of EDOT will be diluted to 2ml
with [C4mpyr][NTf2].
As the concentration of EDOT is same as (a) and (b) therefore, 0.0028 g of EDOT will be diluted to 2ml
with [C4mim][NTf2].
