KINDS OF SENTENCES

There are four kinds of sentences: the declarative, interrogative, exclamatory, and imperative
sentences.
The declarative sentence relates an occurrence or states a fact and ends with a period.

Cheetah is the fastest land animal.

Asia is the largest continent in the world.

The interrogative sentence asks a question and ends with a question mark.

Is she writing?

Do you like to go to Paris?

The exclamatory sentence shows a strong and sudden feeling or emotion and ends with an exclamation
point.

How ill your mother was!

What a strange feeling you had!

We won the battle!

The imperative sentence ends with a period and expresses a command.
