DATA FLOW DIAGRAM
- portray business processes, stores of data, and flows of data
among those elements
- often used in developing new systems
- sufficient to details
- use simple, user-friendly symbols (unlike flowcharts):

Entity Relationship Diagram

- model relationships between entities and data in
accounting systems
- limited parties involved
- depends on the nature of the entities
- a data model
- its basic symbol set:

Cardinalities – number of possible occurrence associated

with a single occurrence.
Entity: Single Occurrence
Cardinalities: Number of possible occurrence

Philippines: Most commonly used is flowchart.
