Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of Earth's near-surface air and

oceans since the mid-20th century and its projected continuation. -Wikipedia-

For over a decade the world have been discussing about global warming, even though
many of world leaders have enforced an effort to reduce global warming in many ways,
the effect will still be perceived by mother earth.

Here are the 10 bad impacts that could be enough destructive:

1. Great Barrier Reef Will Disappear in Span of 20

Years

The Great Barrier Reef will be destroyed in span of 20 years due to the overheating of sea
water. Charlie Veron, former chief of scientist from Australian Institute of Marine
Science, told The Times: "There is no way out, there is no gap. Great Barrier Reef will
finished in span of 20 years or more. Once the carbon dioxide hit in between 2030 and
2060, all coral reefs will extinct."

2. Amazon Rainforest Will Turn into Dry Grassland

Amazon is the world's largest tropical rainforest. However global warming and
deforestation are reversing the role of forest as a carbon absorber, turning the 30-60% of
the forest into grassland. Projection showed the forest will disappear entirely in 2050.

3. Sahara Desert Will Become Grassland

Scientist see a sign that Sahara Desert and surrounding area becomes greener due to an
increased rainfall. If this is sustainable, the rain can revitalize the area hit by drought to
become community farms.

4. The Storm Will be Larger than Hurricane Katrina

Still uncertain whether the Hurricane Katrina is related to global warming but there are
indications that global warming will produce a category 5 storm, while category 4 storm
is similar to katrina that hits louisiana. Global warming also makes hurricane more
destructive by raising the sea level which then resulted in a more serious coastal flooding.

5. London Will Sink in 2100

The thing is not only reefs and low islands are under threat from global warming. In fact,
the main threat for people is a large urban area which are at risk of, eventually becoming
submerged in water. This is caused by changes in sea level which can make coastal cities
being destroyed by flooding. Dozens of cities in the world, including London and New
York prone to flooding at the end of this century. According to research, it showed that
global warming will increase sea levels more quickly than previously thought. London is
one of the major world capital city with high risk of this type of flooding.

6. Animals Will Shrink in Size

Warming climate could support a small species to become greater. Research and analysis
based on body mass of fish, plankton, and bacteria in the ecosystems of Europe, coming
just weeks after scientists reported that the sheep on the Scottish island are shrinking due
to warm conditions. The new study suggests that individual species lost an average of 50
percent of their body mass for 30 years. Reduced body size is a third universal ecological
response to global warming. Sheep in previous studies suggested that the winter is shorter
and lighter, means that sheep do not need to put as much weight as ever to survive their
first year of life, a factor which also can affect fish population. However the researchers
say the shift could alter the food chain, with peak of predator mainly influenced by the
depreciation of prey.

7. 2000 Islands in Indonesia Will Sink

At least 2000 small islands throughout the Indonesian archipelago can disappear by 2030
as a result of excessive mining and other environmentally destructive activities. Indonesia
has lost more than 24 islands so far out of 17,500 islands.

8. Global warming may Increase Terrorism Level

Global warming may encourage mass migrations and creating breeding grounds for
terrorists. People tend to flee destabilized countries, and some may turn to terrorism.
According to the Chairman of the National Intelligence Council in the U.S, economic
refugees will see an additional reason to flee because the harsh climate. That will put
pressure on countries receiving refugees, many of whom will not have the resources nor
interest to receive these climate migrants.

9. Alpen Peak Will Melt Down

The glacier, which retreated in the warm, dry winter and summer caused by global
warming, and even snow skiing in the 2008-2009 season is substantial, recent years have
seen less snowing at low altitude, and receding glaciers and permafrost melting higher -
with significant impact on winter tourism activities. It is estimated that the glaciers will
be lost between 2030 and 2050. Italy and Switzerland have decided to redraw their
borders dissolved after Alpine glaciers global warming that marks the border between the
two countries.
10. Maldives may Sink

Flattest and lowest countries in the world suffering from coastal erosion, and could find
itself submerged if sea levels continue to rise, with islands growth are smaller and
smaller. This extreme prediction is destroying the prospect for residents and bad news for
tourists who descended on the soft white beaches and warm water every year. The
scientists gave only about a hundred years before it actually disappeared into the
surrounding sea.
