First understand. Who is your friend and who is enemy? Take the moolatrikona sign of a planet.

The upachaya signs, 1st and 7th sign from it is your enemy. The exaltation sign of the planet is a
friend. Now look at planets in a chart. If Sun is in the sign of Saturn, he is in the sign of an enemy.
This is the Satyachari method. Goel says you can also take this from upachaya signs from where the
planet is actually placed in the chart. Mutual Enemies are Mars and Mercury, Venus and Jupiter,
Saturn and Moon, Saturn and Sun. When Mars is rising, check where enemy Mercury is. This is the
mental condition of the planet. Think about it. Are you comfy in certain people’s houses? That’s how
each planet feels.

Aspect is very important. Sometimes even more than conjunction.

Next. Look at the avastha. Most important are deeptadi and Lajjitadi.

But don’t exult with an exalted planet. It can ruin you too!! Depends on where its energy goes. An
exalted planet is full of ego. He will consider himself a king in whichever department he is governing.

Seventh aspect of Planets

Wherever a swastha planet is sitting, that house will be prosperous. (Own sign). And remember his
7th aspect. The 7th house from any house is the Shakti of that house. If your 7th lord is in 7th house,
my wife will be giving me Shakti. Or in other words, she will control you. If your 9th lord is in own
house, he aspects 3rd. Your father gives Shakti to younger siblings. If you’re in a friends house, you
will enjoy the fruits of that house. If it’s in 7th house you will enjoy the fruits of marriage, business. If
in 5th house, fruits of children, learning, intelligence. You will enjoy from all of this. Now the Deena
avastha – not rich or not poor. Neutral. He has no color on him. So then you must look for
conjunctions or aspects. If there’s nothing, then look at the sign. The color will come from one of
these. He made an interesting point about Lajjitadi Avastha. If a planet is in 5th house with a malefic,
it will at some point make you ashamed or humiliate you..sigh. Your 4th house (happiness) is
dependent on your karmas (10th house). You get Shakti to do good karmas from family/mother etc.
and you get happiness from good karmas. Do note that Parashar has not mentioned Rahu is
aspecting Ketu and vice versa. He doesn’t mention the 7th aspect. He said that they are treated as
planets but don’t forget they are NOT planets! A shadow cannot cast another shadow.

If you cant remember too much, just remember the groups. Sun Moon Mars Jupiter is one group
and the other is Venus Mercury Saturn. Between the two they are neutrals or friends. Apply and
think practically.

Learn the significations of each house.

Khala Yoga – Any lord exchanging signs with the third lord creates this yoga. The third lord is your
unconscious mind. It is a house of hobbies. What you’re doing unconsciously may not always be
good. Benefic aspect makes you courageous, malefic aspect destroys the courage, and malefic in the
house gives courage. When will you show courage? Always under stress. So in a perverse way, you
don’t want to activate the third house because you don’t want stressful situations! That’s why in a
parivartana with the third lord, the sign of courage is going to some other sign/house. Lets say it
goes to the 4th house. You will use Khal to get happiness/mother/properties. Your Khal has gone to
your mom. You are courageous towards your mother. There will be dispute in property or with
mother. Requires you to show courage. 3rd house has many significations. For this yoga it refers to
your nature. Not the neighbors or siblings which are also significations of the house.

Hathahanantha Yoga = Sun and Moon together or in exchange in Navamsha. The person damages
himself.

Natural and Functional Benefics The lord of the house and the lord of lagna is always benefic.
Lordship makes the planet a benefic or malefic. When you’re working with dashas, use functional
benefics and malefics. That’s when its important. When a natural benefic is associated with 4th
house, now ask. Did he have a good house? Yes. He did. Now look at the Dasha of the benefic. It’s a
functional malefic. So that’s why it gives those results.

When you look at a chart , excepting the house lord/Lagna Lord, take natural benefics/malefics. For
marriage consequently ask which benefics are influencing the seventh house. For seventh, benefics
should influence, lagna and 7th lord should influence. When you see the timing of marriage, then you
see functional benefics and malefics.

When you look at a dasha or a dynamic result, then you take functional benefics/malefics. When
you determine timing of marriage, then you ask questions about who is a functional benefic for the
native. When you want to see if marriage is promised see if natural benefics are influencing the
seventh house. Plus lagna lord and seventh lord influencing the house. Same for any house.

How do you identify a strong chart? Pls look house by house.

Remember that the birth chart lordships can be applied to divisional charts. Don’t forget. If the 6th
lord is in the navamsha lagna or the 7th house you will have disputes with the husband. Similar for
10th house in D10 you will have disputes in profession.

The positional strength of a planet decides your position (physical or mental) in society.

Debilitation

A debilitated planet will make you humble. If it is in good yoga it will lift you very high. Never
underestimate a debilitated planet. He is starting from scratch. An exalted planet starts with ego.
Suppose a debilitated Mars has an 8th aspect on the 5th house. He will kill enemies at the lowest
level. An exalted Mars has to kill enemies of your children/intelligence who are of a high status.

In Shadbala, this is one of the Sthanabal (Exaltation). This is which position in society you are
(mentally or physically). How you feel about yourself. Think of what exactly exaltation means with
this reference.

The lagna lord is always benefic.

2nd house is the family in which you are born.

4th is the family you create.

5th house is not directly connected to romance. Romance comes through your intelligence or
thinking.

Special aspects of planets

Mars wants to maintain discipline and destroy enemies. Its 4th aspect causes a surgical strike on
some part of your body. After that you will be cured. Suppose he is in 10th aspecting Lagna.
Whenever dasha connected with Mars aspecting this lagna comes he will make you undergo surgery
on your body. Not specifically a doctors surgery. It may be a teaching. After that lesson you will be
okay. This aspect will make you disciplined.

Now look at his 8th aspect. It is the aspect of death. The senapati gives death to the enemies of the
8th house he aspects, not the friends! He doesn’t kill the house! Be sensible. When Mars is in 10th he
will kill your childrens enemies. Hes a cool guy. That way he will kill the enemies of your spouse if
he’s in the 12th.

Jupiters 5th aspect is like giving blessing to his children. Jupiter in 3rd will look after his wife like his
child. If Saturn is in 3rd house, you will have to show courage to show your children are good. Or you
will have to prove you are intelligent. The only exception is that the 3rd from Saturn if its his own sign
it’s better. You will have to prove your marriage is worth something, or your husband is not
worthless. You will have to work to prove it. If Saturn is in 2nd, its 3rd aspect is on 4th house. Either
you don’t have a family or you will have to show that you’re happy. But inside there is something
wrong. You’re not that happy. If Saturn in 12th he will try to show he has money. Saturn’s 10th
aspect. It’s the planet of karma and the 10th house is the house of karma. So karma will come to the
forefront. Whichever house is the 10th from Saturn, your concentration of karmas will be there. It
will be your prime karma house. All your energy will be to improve that house. If it’s on the 5th he
will be after his children all the time or he will try to improve his intelligence everyday. If it’s on the
9th he will go to the temple everyday or be after his father everyday. Maybe the father is very rich.

If theres a connection of 5th and lagna lord, your past punya is connected to present life. Your life
will be guided by your past life. It doesn’t mean it will be easy, it means there’s a strong connection
to your past karma perhaps.

Your planets behave as you behave. 7th lord in 2nd. Two meanings. Your wife adds to your bank
balance. 2nd lord in 7th house – the wife controls your bank balance. 7th lord in 9th house – Your
husband and your father are best of pals. (If there’s a benefic relation). 11th lord in 4th house – Your
elder brothers are eyeing your happiness or property. If theres a benefic in the 4th he will grab your
property. If with a malefic he cannot get the property. 9th lord in 4th with a malefic – your father will
not stay with you. If with a benefic then you will welcome him to your property.

For Kartari Yoga, remember to ask these questions.

What does the planet signify? Lordship. Where is it sitting. Who is it conjunct by. Who aspects it.
Think of all that the planet signifies. The problem will start with one of these and culminate in the
planet in the 2nd house.
The planet in 12th starts the influence on the Lagna. It will culminate in the 2nd. Lets say youre
evaluating Kartari on the 7th lord. The planet in 12th is the 10th lord and the planet in 2nd is the 9th
lord. The problem started with your career, affected your married life, and finally it will go to your
father/teacher. He may solve or not solve it. Look only at the nearest planet. Both will not have
kartari. Only 2 planets can do kartari. It doesn’t matter if there are 2-3 planets sitting in the house. If
a malefic is sitting in the 2nd house, you may leave whatever it is – your job or your wife or whatever.
If Rahu or Ketu are in the 12th house, their effect will be less since they are retrograde and going
away from the planet. If the degrees are very near, some ppl say that Rahu or Ketu have already
injected the venom. But Goel doesn’t feel it’s a great malefic influence. However, a planet
retrograde in the 2nd house has a great influence. And the solution will not be found easily to the
problem. Also don’t get confused with natural and functional benefics or malefics. Look only at the
significations of the planet.

A planet has three types of significations. One is the lordship. The second is the conjunction or the
placement. The third is the aspect. That is an imposed signification. That’s imposed by others.

Does the planet lose a signification after x age? He doesn’t believe so. Static promises is what he
looks at. So Mangal will still be there. Do look however at Yogini Dasha which has progressed lagnas
where lagna will change temporarily. Then new yogas will occur.

Combustion

ask the question. What can the Sun burn? He cant burn your beauty or intelligence or the soul. He
will burn the physical and material things. Those can catch fire. Internal things cannot catch fire.
Your mind or thoughts or speech cannot be burnt. He usually says if it’s the same navamsha with
the Sun, its combust. If Mercury is combust he usually harms the maternal side. They wont be so
prosperous. This is the material signification of Mercury. Venus material signification is sex life. If it’s
combust that will be burnt. He mentions the signification of Venus as changing depending on day
and night birth with the Moon, so have to check on that. Whether Venus signifies the love life
always or not. But remember the good thing. This planet is sitting with the King on his throne. So
while the physical aspect is burnt, say, of Mercury, what is left aka your intelligence is sitting with
the King. He honors you with a place on his throne. So that’s why you get such high intelligence with
Budha Aditya when so close together. That’s why Jupiter sitting with the Sun is Shiva Raja Yoga. The
Guru is sitting with the King. King has honored his wisdom. But it ruins the
father/guru/elders/children. But your wisdom is praised.

Kendradhipati Dosha

We haven’t understood Parashara. He has written that benefics having lordship of kendras lose their
beneficience. Malefics will lose their maleficience. He hasn’t said that benefics BECOME malefic.
Everyone says dosha, but why do you do that? He hasn’t acquired any dosha for gods sake.
Remember that he hasn’t acquired a fault. Saturn for Libra Lagna – look at his other lordship. He
owns a benefic house. So now he will become neutral. Why is Saturn a yogakaraka? As 4th lord he
has become a neutral. And now he is 5th lord. So now he is a good lord. For Taurus lagna, it’s the
same. Saturn is 10th lord so now he becomes a neutral as per this rule. And now he’s 9th lord so he
becomes a yogakaraka. Take Aries lagna. 7th lord is Venus. It becomes neutral. It’s no longer a
benefic, but it’s a neutral. Its other lordship 2nd is also a neutral house. So it will remain a neutral.
Now how will you judge Venus? Look at its associations. If it’s with Mercury, he becomes a fool! He’s
with the lord of 3rd and 6th. So he becomes a malefic. If that Venus is with Jupiter, he is with 9th lord
so 2 and 9 will become a yogakaraka. Do remember though that Jupiter is 12th lord so 12th and 2nd
will mean you will spend a lot of money. Please read Laghu Parashari 10 times. With each shloka,
take it as it is. Don’t use your intelligence. Understand it, then apply your intelligence. Then you will
benefit.

People also club this theory with Badhaka. It’s just the lord, don’t look at the house and say all
planets in that house are badhakas. Badhakas are harmful only when they are connected with
Maraka planets.

RETROGRESSION

Two different analysis – In natal chart and in transit. Look at the birth horoscope first.

When you were born, you forgot to complete something or you left something which you liked and
could not get. You left it and that work is pending. You will try to finish that work in this lifetime.
Whether you can finish this or not is another matter. If you have a retrograde planet. Classics use
the word Shath which shows its capable. full of strength. They don’t behave normally. In Shadbal, it
has maximum Chestabal. Which means effort. It has maximum capacity to do efforts. Remember
two phrases. Unfinished work. Abnormal behavior wrt their natural significations. If Venus is
retrograde, his sexual behavior will not be normal.

What are the significations of the planet? There are three types.

They can be natural, they can be acquired or they can be imposed.

Let us say Guru is Retro. Who is Jupiter? First of all, he is a natural significator of wisdom, scriptures,
religion.Next is acquired significations. Which houses does he rule? If he is connected to 9th house
then that’s double whammy. Is he aspected by a religious planet? Like Saturn or the lord of 1st and
5th? Then you have debts about religion, father. You have been brought to this life to finish that.

Notes from the Varga Charts

Look at the lagna in D 10. Who is it aspected by? Where is the Lagna lord? Lagna lord in 11th makes
you ambitious. If in birth chart, in all things. In Navamsha, he will desire a lot from the spouse. So if
there’s malefic attachment then you know there will be problems. Now don’t just look at natural
benefics and malefics. Look at the lordships. 12th lord in 10th means you won’t have a stable job.

10th house is not supreme. Promise from lagna is supreme. Who is aspecting lagna? If the 6th lord
from D-10 is aspecting, there won’t be happiness in career. Who is aspecting the 10th house? First
see the general lordship, then see the lordship from the 10th hous itse.

In D7 if Beeja Sphuta is in a Kendra. Check for that. Is it aspected by benefics/malefics? Is the lagna
aspected by benefics? Then he will want children. If the lagna lord is strong and well aspected, he
will carry out the wishes of the lagna. If he doesn’t want kids he will make sure he doesn’t have kids.
Now note one important thing. Look at the benefic aspects on lagna, fifth and NINTH. If even sign
rises in sapthamsha, 9th house is the first child. If odd, 5th house is the first child.

Now. Are children promised or not?

5th house is house of intelligence. When the intelligence is turned to an unwanted direction, then it
turns into an addiction. Lagna is our conscious mind. Whatever we do from lagna we do consciously.
3rd house is our unconscious mind. What we do from there is like a hobby. You don’t really know
why you do it. 6th house is our sub conscious mind. 9th house is our super conscious mind. Beyond
the material world. 12th to these houses is the loss of that consciousness. For example 12th to 6th
house is 5th house will show loss of sub consciousness. That’s where the addiction comes from. You
lose your atma ki avaaz. Your sanskaar is subconscious to you. If the 5th house is connected to a
debililitated planet who is under malefic influence, aspects or is placed in 5th house, or placed in 5th
with Rahu, then this will show the highest order of addiction. Rahu is more dangerous because it
keeps you attached to material things, and Ketu takes you toward spiritual. So lets say Rahu is sitting
there and so is a neecha planet who is under malefic influence or is aspecting it. Mercury under
malefic influence will divert your attention to paapam. Make sure Mercury and Moon are well
placed and well connected with benefics. Then the person will control himself. 2nd house shows
your sanskaar. How you will use them ? Look at the 2nd lord. Check the 2nd lord in Navamsha. What
are the relations it has? One modification – If Mars and Saturn are mutually aspecting each other in
D-9 on birth chart, the person will be super active. It’s also not a bad effect on moon.
