0) Warning about CaptureFlux:
This version is an important revision of the previous versions (5.x.x) with many
new features.
As usual, when modifying a program, it may give unexpected results on some syste
ms. I am not able to test my program on all different configurations. So please
do not complain if it does not work well for you, and many thanks to all users w
ho will report bugs or suggestions for improving it.

Warning: I receive so much e-mails that I prefer spend my time reading them and
trying to understand bugs and suggestions, so I have no time left for answering
to them. Sorry.
Let me remind you that CaptureFlux obeys to the following principle: it works we
ll for me, it should work well for you, but perhaps will it not. The only way to
make sure, is to test it and if it does not work to make a report to me.
CaptureFlux 6.x.x is very powerful if your system is powerful: I recommend 3 GHz
processor, but 2 GHz should already be fine; DirectX 9 must be installed and W
indows XP or Vista is compulsory. Sorry it does not work on Mac or Linux.

1) What is captureFlux?
CaptureFlux deals with live video or audio streams coming through a firewire car
d in DV format, or on an analogic video acquisition board,a sound card, or even
on a usb- webcam. In each case, the relevant driver must be correctly installed
and be compatible with directshow 9. CaptureFlux does not manage the mpeg sourc
es in standard, but can accept plug-ins for these devices. Presently, a plug-in
for the nice box ADS Tech DVDXpress DX2 is available on my web site, as well as
for Dazzle DVC130 and DVC170.
It allows to preview the video in fullscreen with or without saving it to a tape
or a hard-disk.
The video may be recorded to a file ("direct-to-disk"), either in the native for
mat or converted to an avi DV format (type2). In this case, you can choose betwe
en Pal or NTSC format. You may also convert in real time to Windows Media Video
 (wmv) or to divx or Xvid and mp3 (if the relevant encoders are installed on you
r system).
Audio only can also be recorded to a Wav or mp3 file, even audio included in a v
ideo source (like a DV camera or the ADS tech box).
The capture may be scheduled at any date and time.
CaptureFlux is able to grab a jpeg or bmp image from the live video stream. Thes
e images can be assembled into an AVI file. Moreover, CaptureFlux may snap pict
ures on a regular time-interval basis (intervalometer).
CaptureFlux is able to insert the date and time as an inlay into the video file.
If it's a DV stream, the datecode (date and time of capture by the camcorder) o
r the timecode may be displayed and recorded on the file. You must understand th
at this inlay is only recorded in recompressed formats, because in native format
s the video image is indeed not modified. So choose DV type2 (recompressed) or W
mv or divX as capture format if you want to keep the date in the video.

2) How to install CaptureFlux
CaptureFlux needs no installation. Just unzip the file CaptureFlux_6xen.exe in
a folder and launch the file by double-clicking on it. It does not install any f
ilter in your registry. When the application closes, it will ask you if you want
to save the preferences either in the registry or in an ini-file (that makes th
e application portable). You may refuse, and thus delete all entries from captur
eFlux in the registry or as an ini file. Your system remains then unchanged.
If you want to use CaptureFlux with some devices, specially mpeg1 or mpeg2 devi
ces, you will need a plug-in. Presently, a plug-in is available for the box "ADS
Tech DVDXpress DX2" and Dazzle DVC130 or DVC170. Others could be downloadable o
n my website if I collect suffisant information to make them. The plug-ins are d
elivered in a separate zip. They are to unzip in a folder as *.pcf files, by def
ault in the same folder as CaptureFlux.
If you want to capture in divx, you should have installed a directshow compatibl
e DivX or XVID encoder on your system. To record sound in mp3, the mp3 lame code
c from Elecard is required.

3) How to uninstall CaptureFlux
Before deleting the executable file, I recommend to launch a last time CaptureFl
ux, and check "Do not save then quit" in the settings panel (F10 / Pref). Thus t
here will remain no trace from it in the registry or as an ini-file. After that,
delete the executable CaptureFlux_6xen.exe and eventually the installed plug-in
s (*.pcf files)

4) Restrictions of use of the personal version
This free version of CaptureFlux is granted only for a personal use. It is never
theless a full version, with no functional limitations.
Use of CaptureFlux is not permitted in companies, administrations or during prof
essional activities.
I made it specially for the video hobbyist. It is not opensource, so please don'
t ask me for source code. If you really want to use CaptureFlux for professional
activities, please ask me for a license, that I will send you against a little
donation to participate for my expenses.

* possibility to operate CaptureFlux as a portable application
* Inlay is fully and easily personnalizable
* display in full screen respects the aspect ratio of the video
* display of video DV automatically is in 4x3 or 16x9 according to the v
ideo
* a table of all keyboard shortcuts and switches can be displayed with F

* if a driver does not connect, then CaptureFlux will try again at next

/drop of an *.ax file
* when thhe aspect ratio of the video is changed, the saved video change
s accordingly whenever it's possible
* a keyboard shortcut has been implemented for the intervalometer (the k
ey Pause/Break on the keyboard).
