SECONDARY ANNUAL AWARDS - Class 6 to 9 2017-2018

1. Distinguished parents, Class 6 to 9 students, faculties and our deserving awardees of 2017-18,
Assalamwalaikum and a warm welcome to you all! On behalf of Chittagong Grammar School Dhaka-
Secondary, our honourable Directors, Head, Faculty members and staff, I, Azra Karim and I, Salman
Hassan welcome you all to the Secondary Annual Awards Ceremony of 2017-2018.

AZRA:
2. May I please request all of you to switch your mobile phones into silent mode and refrain from taking
pictures from the front of the stage so as to not block the view of the audience.

3. We shall begin our program with Sura Fatiha recited by Asifur Rahman of Class 8G and its English
translation will be recited by Aymer Maher Ahmed of Class 6C.

SALMAN:
4. Before we begin, we would like to take a moment to remember one of the founding Directors of
Chittagong Grammar School, Mrs. Bilquis Dada. We shall now watch a video which has been made in her
memory and then we shall all observe a minute’s silence.

Video followed by 1 minute silence.

May I request everyone to rise and observe a minute silence in memory of Mrs. Bilquis Dada.

AZRA:
5. Ladies and gentlemen, we shall watch a short presentation on the Chittagong Grammar School
Retrospect for the last academic year.

6. Let us now watch a Community School video that has been made by our community service club
students on the activities of the community school.

7. At the end of each Academic Year, we come together to give away the Annual Awards to students
under various academic criteria and Extra Curricular Activities.

Let’s not make our students wait any longer and begin the Award ceremony already! Our first category of
awards is subject awards.

SALMAN:
8. Annual Awards for the subjects English, Bangla, Maths and Arts are given to those students who have
scored the highest percentage in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd term.

May I now request the award bearer and the award passing assistant to take positions on the stage.

 I would like to call Ms. Nilufer (Faculty of English Literature) to come up on stage to give away
the English awards of Class 6.
The awardees for English from Class 6 are: Shehzad Ahmed (6C) & Sahala Tasnim Haque(6G)

 May I now call upon Ms Nusrat (Faculty of Maths) to come up on stage to give away the Maths
award of Class 6.
The awardees for Maths from Class 6 are: Abul Barakat Ahmed Rezwan(6C), Radeen Rahman(6G)

of Class 6.

 I would also like to request Mr Mizan (Faculty of Maths) to come up on stage to give away the
Maths award of Class 9.

The awardees for Maths from Class 9 are: Areebah Mahdia (9C), Tanzeem Haque (9G) &
Ahmed Salman Akhnuk (9S)

12. Ladies and Gentlemen, we just completed the Class Wise Annual Subject Awards- let’s have a round of
applause for all the awardees who worked so hard to achieve them. Well done guys!

We will now move on to our next category, the Most Improved Awards. This award is given to students who
have shown improvement in performance in the Final Term compared to the previous two terms. The award
recognizes the effort and commitment students have shown in the last term and needless to say, as
teachers, we are proud to announce their names today!

 I request Ms. Sinora Zaman (Academic Coordinator) to come up on stage to give the award for Most
Improved

The award for Most Improved from Class 6 goes to: Aymar Maher Ahmed (6C) & Affan Ahmed Khan (6G)

The awardees from Class 7 are: Kazi Amitabur Rahman (7C), Zara Adeel (7G) & Proneeta Mannan
Megha (7S)

The awardees from Class 8 are: Mahadev Ghosh (8C), Anhaa Aziz (8G) & Wasif Ahmed (8S)

The awardees from Class 9 are: Mehrunnesa Sevana (9C), Samah Sabreen Hossain (9G), Alvi Khan &
Abdullah Zahid (9S)

13. Chittagong Grammar School-Dhaka recognizes that today’s child not only learns through books, but
through activities and experiences and throughout the year, our students engage themselves in various
extracurricular activities in order to flourish in all three learning domains, namely: cognitive, affective and
psychomotor. Not only that, students of class 8 automatically qualify and enroll for the Duke of Edinburgh
Awards, stepping from bronze, to silver and then to gold level awards.

Now we would request you to watch a short PowerPoint presentation on our Extra Curricular Activities.

14. Students who have shown excellence in their respective Extra Curricular Activities and have been
present at every Extra Curricular class are awarded with the Extra Curricular Activities Excellence
Award which is in our next award category.

 So now, I request Mr. Ruhul (Extra Curricular Activities Coordinator), to come up on stage to give
the award for Extra Curricular Activities Excellence Award.

The awardees from Class 6 are: Ruwaifi Ahmed Muinuddin for (Cricket), Shehzad Ahmed for (Table
Tennis), and Mir Abrar Khaled for (Lawn Tennis)

The awardees from Class 7 are: Areebah Sayeed for (Community Service), Nishorgo Rahman for
(Football), Ayesha Zaman Khan for (Basketball), Noormin Fateema for (Badminton), Julian Paul Guda
for (Debate/MUN Zawad Arif Arian for (Guitar)

The awardees from Class 8 are: Kazi Sharaf Yasir (French), Fariha Manzur (Arts & Crafts) and
Sumaiya Binte Imad (Volleyball)

15. The next round of awards is the Extra Curricular Activities Participation Award. This category
recognizes and awards students who have participated in their respective Extra Curricular clubs
enthusiastically and have been present in every Extra Curricular Activities class.

for (Football), Nashmia Afrin Chowdhury for (Badminton), Prothoma Banerjee for (French) and
Shayor Ahmad Khan for (Debate/MUN).

The awardees from Class 8 are: Ahmed Azwad Kabir for (Guitar), Amina Noor for (Volleyball),
Md.Adnan for (Table Tennis), Sarina Hossain Shorno for (Lawn Tennis) and Unaisha Hassan for (Arts &
Crafts)

We will now present a short PowerPoint presentation on our Round Square and Model United Nations (MUN).
We will now be awarding the participants for the International Round Square Conference and Model
United Nations for 2017-2018:

This year we would like to introduce a new category of Award-which is the Commonwealth Essay
Competition Certificate.

From Class 7, the Gold Award goes to Areebah Sayeed and the Bronze award goes to Kazi Amitabur

Another new category of Award which is being introduced this year is the Institute for Career Studies Art
Competition Certificate.

17. The Annual Award for Honour is awarded to those students who have achieved an “A” grade in the
term.

AZRA: Our next award is the 100% Attendance Awards. This is awarded to those who have been present
in the school throughout the year. This award is in recognition of those who exemplify efficiency and
discipline.

Attendance Award to the following students:

19. Moving along to our next set of awards: This category is the Student Laureate Award. Students who
have shown excellence in academics and gained the top academic result in the term-ending report are
awarded with the Student Laureate Award.

-I would also like to request Ms. Asia Alam Chowdhury, Head of school, to come up on stage, to give the
Student Laureate Award.
