Ref: About the submission of final draft report

Dear Sir,

With regards to your review on Detailed Feasibility Study Draft Report by Panel of Experts, We have
proposed our work schedule for finalizing the final draft report incorporating the comments as made by
Panel of Experts(PoE).

We had been working on the submission of final report by your last deadline( 31st May) as per your
previous commentary matrix before receiving your review report from PoE on 28th May. We had already
redesigned our diversion structure passing flood frequency of 8802 cumec ( 1 in 100 yrs) and also
checked the weir for flood of 500 yrs. All the hydraulic calculations and structural analysis had been
redesigned. Also, the quantity re-estimate and all necessary drawings had been changed accordingly.
We had updated our hydrological calculations ( discharge and temperature) by including recent flow
data and temperature as according to the information made available from DHM. We had performed
restudy on GLOF analysis in our catchment area as according to your previous commentary matrix. We
had presented our explanation of taking 77 cumec as design discharge for hydropower and irrigation
water requirement in our report. Water balance study had also been done in our new report. We had
also revisited the project area for further geological works incorporating your commentary matrix.
Detailed geotechnical study of tunnel alignment had been performed. Some laboratory tests which were
concerned by DoI on previous commentary matrix had been done and some tests are still on progress.

Unfortunately, we got your review report made by PoE before 3 days of your previous deadline.
However, we highly appreciate your review work but don't appreciate your late reviewing. Some
comments are very specific and our report needs to be rectified accordingly but some comments are
beyond our current ToR which we are not bound to do.

The reviewer has recommended to take 9,839 cumec as design discharge ( 1 in 100 yrs) for the barrage
and should check the flood for return period of 500 yrs. The redesign of barrage will require some time
and other component changes accordingly. We have conducted suspended sediment sampling for low
flow period. But, the reviewer has strongly recommended to take suspended sampling during heavy
sediment flow for at least of 3 months, Shrawan, Bhadra and Aswin. This comments will be incorporate
in our final report. Reviewer has emphasized the performing bed load sampling as it is in ToR and we will
also perform it. The Longitudinal and cross section survey at tailrace has not been done which is in our
ToR, will be resurveyed by the consultant. The reviewer has instructed to take penstock size up to 4.5m
instead of our optimized size of 6m in considering handling issue. We will incorporate all the above
specific comments made from PoE. But, the power capacity will reduce by decreasing penstock size. For
the decreased power production, all the electro-mechanical components need to be redesigned
accordingly. The reviewer had depicted re-hydrological calculations, like flood frequencies analysis,
catchment area calculations, sediment study, and other calculations. The structural calculation of all
hydraulic components will be made available. similarly, the hydraulic calculations of all possible
hydraulic structure will be made available.

The working schedule is attached below.

Some important tasks like ………………………….as mentioned by reviewer are beyond current ToR, will not
be performed.
