The MCU activates 3 motion axes: ROT, In/Out, Up/Down, and also the Controls & Indicators

Tilt motion which is activated through the Port command. Removal & Installation
Wiring List
To activate each motion axis, it is required that the Drive Module of the
motion axis receives all three signals listed below:

• Command signal, which is activated from the Service Box or

from the Gantry Panel.
(In case of In/Out or ROT, command can also be activated from
the system software)
• Software Enable signal, which is activated through Elscint MCU
software.
• Hardware Enable signal, which is enabled by the safety controls.
This signal arrives to the SSR, and the SSR activates the Drive
Module.

TOC Main Menu

MCU

To activate the TILT motion, only the Command signal and the Hardware General
Enable signals are required. FRU List
Block Diagram
The MCU transfers Ports signals to the RMS. The Ports signals indicate
Controls & Indicators
the status of In/Out motion, Limits, etc.
Removal & Installation

The feedbacks from the encoders return to the MCU through the RMS, Wiring List
except for the feedback from the Up/Down Encoder, which returns directly
to the MCU. The potentiometers values for the Gantry Panel display are
conveyed to the MCU through the RMS.

There is a bi-directional RS422 communication between the MCU and the

Host Computer through the RMS.

Mylar for Installation

General General

Parts
To shorten the time required for installation, we strongly recommend to Procedure
use the Mylar. The Mylar is used to mark the position of the points at
which the Gantry and Patient Table connect to the floor, and enables the
preparation of drilling holes without moving the system.

We recommend to drill the holes before the system arrives, to reduce the
time required for installation.

This Document includes instructions for using the Mylar during installation
of a SeleCT system.

SCU

The HVPS Control circuit monitors and controls the operation of the 15 General
KW HVPS assembly, which includes the Anode Inverter Cathode, Inverter FRU List
and IPC. The circuit contains 16 channels A/D converter and eight
Block Diagram
channels D/A converter. The analog channels are optically isolated from
SCU Analog Part
the CPU. The HVPS also controls the operation of the Anode Starter and
the Heat Exchanger. SCU X Ray Safety
SCU Safety State
The HVPS Control circuit receives analog temperature indications from a A-Plane Control Circuit
sensor located in the FEE assembly. The analog temperature readings are Laser Marker Circuit
then converted into a digital signal and sent to the CPU. External Interface
Controls & Indicators
The Beam Control circuit performs compensator and A-plane control

The ACQ consists of a RISC CPU (Reduced Instructions Set Computer), Diagnostics
DMA control, ACQ communication interface, EISA control and UART. Removal & Installation
Wiring List
The CPU controls the ACQ operations and handles the communication
between the gantry and the host computer. The ACQ receives the serial
data from the gantry through the ACQ communication interface. The CPU
organizes the data on a local memory (DRAM) and then the DMA
controller transfers it to the host computer through the EISA bus.

The host computer sends commands such us scan type, scan length, etc.
to the SCU and MCU through the UARTs.
