Note 1: Parts 4, 5 and 6 should be used in the event of the loss of the original parts during
the replacement procedure
3.1 Preparation
4. Use the Ø 20.5 mm fixed hole saw bit to drill a hole in the marked place. Clean the drill
burrs from the hole.
3. Rotate the rotor so that the X-ray tube will be at the 12 o’clock position by using the
service box. This will serve as the reference position.
4. Rotate the Gantry by hand until you can see the screw of the segment through the drilled
hole. Remove the screw. (See Figure 3). Rotate the rotor until you see the second screw
of the same segment. Remove the second screw and remove the segment by letting it fall
down on the cover.
Insert a new segment and mount it using the same screws and washers and the new
special washer (EPN 76171700206). The fastening moment must be 3 ± 0.3 N/m.
Continue to replace all of the remaining segments. When you have replaced the last
segment the X-ray tube will again be at the reference point of 12 o’clock.
5. After all of the segments are replaced rotate the rotor from the service box and verify that
there is free and quiet movement of the rotor.
6. Lubricate the rotor belt with silicon lubricant suitable for belt motors.
1. GENERAL
The High Voltage system is a main part of the X Ray system. It consists of:
• Anode Unit
• Cathode Unit
• IPC Unit
The HV system converts the input Power Mains to a programmable, highly regulated high voltage
output (+70 kV) to power the XRT.
High Voltage system operation is controlled by the Scan Control Unit (SCU) which is also the
element that interfaces with the external environment.

To shorten the time required for installation, we strongly recommend to Procedure
use the Mylar. The Mylar is used to mark the position of the points at
which the Gantry and Patient Table connect to the floor, and enables the
preparation of drilling holes without moving the system.
We recommend to drill the holes before the system arrives, to reduce the
time required for installation.
This Document includes instructions for using the Mylar during installation
of a SeleCT system.
Parts
• Gantry and Patient Table Mylar EPN 705-7170-4108 Procedure
• Document EPN 490-7178-0602
Procedure General
Parts
1. Position the Gantry Mylar according to the Site plan. Procedure
3. Stick the Gantry Mylar to the Patient Table Mylar using adhesive
tape.
6. Verify that the distance between the Gantry and Patient Table is
as required.
7. Draw a line between the centers of the Gantry holes. See Figure. General
Parts
8. Draw a line between the centers of the Patient Table holes.
Procedure
9. Measure the distance between the centers of the lines you have
drawn in steps a & b.

Controls & Indicators
The ACQ consists of a RISC CPU (Reduced Instructions Set Computer), Diagnostics
DMA control, ACQ communication interface, EISA control and UART. Removal & Installation
Wiring List
The CPU controls the ACQ operations and handles the communication
between the gantry and the host computer. The ACQ receives the serial
data from the gantry through the ACQ communication interface. The CPU
organizes the data on a local memory (DRAM) and then the DMA
controller transfers it to the host computer through the EISA bus.
The host computer sends commands such us scan type, scan length, etc.
to the SCU and MCU through the UARTs.

Diagnostics
The ACQ communication unit receives the coded serial data through a Removal & Installation
D-type 9 pin connector, the coded serial data is encoded and converted Wiring List
into parallel data. The parallel data is sent to the appropriate port for initial
processing by the RISC processor.
The RISC processor preforms the initial processing. The initial processing
involves averaging the data that comes from the detectors in the gantry.
The averaging is different for each scanning mode.

Adjustment & Calibration
Before carrying out the XRT Replacement procedure do the
following:
3. Unscrew the four UNC 1/2" screws holding the Base from the
bottom front (2 screws) and from the top rear (2 screws), and put
them aside for later use.
See Figure, item 1.
5. Remove the Tube with its Base, being careful not to damage the
Funnel.
Assembling the Base & Arcs on the New XRT Disassembling Old XRT
1. Assemble the Base (See Figure, item #4) and the Arcs
(See Figure, item #5) onto the Tube.

2. Verify that the Tube base is sitting properly on the platform of the Assembling the Electrical &
HV Connectors
Rotor.
3. Place the base of the Tube firmly into the front left hand side
corner of the Tube Alignment Trapeze.
4. Plug the Low Voltage Cable into the Anode Motor socket.
5. Assemble, but do not tighten, the 4 screws which hold the base to
the Rotor. See Figure, item 1.
7. Insert and tighten 2 screws (See Figure, items 2), by pressing Disassembling Old XRT

8. Release the Rotor Hand Brake.
Calibration of Detection
9. Switch ON the power to the system. System
10. Using the RCU, rotate the Rotor slowly and carefully through one
full rotation, and verify that no component on the Rotor comes
into contact with any stationary part on the Gantry.
X Direction or Axis
Perform long Tube conditioning after replacing the Tube, or in case the Alignment
Tube has not been operated for over a week.
Calibration of Detection
System
1. Warm up the XRT to 40% of available heat units before filming.
3. Make two shots through HCU, the first with the A-plane set to
Slice Width (SW)
1.5 mm, and the second with the A-plane set to SW 10 mm. (For
shot parameters, See Table 1-1).
Take care not to move the film between the shots

System
2. Place the system phantom with a plastic pin approximately in the
center of the Scan circle.
5. In the XRT application, click the XRT menu, and choose XRT
Alignment (arch). The Archive Manager opens.
7. The X-Direction Alignment program reconstructs the image and Z Direction Alignment
displays a table with instructions specifying the distances the X Direction or Axis
Tube should be moved. Alignment

8. If there are corrections to make in the Z-Direction, move the Tube System
in both X and Z directions. Repeat air calibration after the
movement of the Tube, and re-measure the XRT alignment
(axis).
