Resumen
Abstract
The Control of friction in lubricated tribological systems is a very important field of study that can
improve energy efficiency and life cycle of the machine components. Under this objective, has
been investigated very intensively for decades in the complex phenomena involved in contacts
operating under the regime of elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) and thermo-
elastohydrodynamic TEHL. Due the development of the EHL and TEHL, actually there are two
types of models for predicting the behavior of these contacts. First, there are analytical models
that show simplifying assumptions, useful to predict results quickly, but with a limited precision
and allowing only imprecise estimates. On the other hand, for a more exact calculation,
numerical simulations can be used, because provide more accurate results.
