OBJECTIVES
* To understand the design and form of building typologies that are the result of
pressure on urban lands with a thrust on issues like urban land economics, technol-
ogy and ecology
* To create an awareness with regard to the design of green buildings and sustain-
able architecture.
* To inculcate the importance of services integration and construction in spatial
planning in the context of design of High-tise buildings and service intensive build-
ings.
* To highlight on the importance of High rise buildings as elements of identity in
urban areas and urban design principles that govern their design.
* To explore computer aided presentation techniques involving 2D and 3D draw-
ings, walk through and models as required.“We are alll visitors in this moment and

Beaches and mountains, forests and
cities, heroes and simple people, real landscapes or imaginary paradises
represent today the drreams of millions of people. — The tourism became
nowadays the number one of all the economical activities in the world. From
the 20th century, the mobility is more pronounced; to stay in a
hotel became a way of life for a large category of people and for tourists an
entertainment associated with relaxation. What does one expects when in-
habits a hotel room? Is it to find something novel, completely
different if they are just having a vacation or their own
home ambiance for the ones travelling a lot? or both?
The good architecture is definitely a strong criterion when defining the

Dubai, Shanghai taking over the role of architectural icon
