Ansel Adams The American photographer Ansel Adams became famous forhis unique high qualitypictures. Single- mindedly he searched for scenes and lighting conditions 10 implement his visions. He has like few others used the photographic material and technique in a methodical way. This knowledge is transferred 10 us in his many books onphotography. Mostfamous isAnselAdams’ Zone System, a fundamental method to govern the tones and contrast of a picture and thus have full conirol of exposure and development. Some years before his death Ansel Adans was awarded the Hasselblad International Photo- graphic Prize by the Hasselblad Foundation.
