Mid Semester 1
ENGLISH LANGUAGE
Enya has a positive attitude towards work and she always hands in
assignments on time. She is active participant and listener in small and/or
large group discussions. She can express her ideas and opinions and discuss
them with the class. She is able to spell most of our high frequency words. She
has done description planning first and a storyboard to create a simple
descriptive text. She can read words and sentences but requires more feeling
and proper intonation when reading. She rarely needs to take her time and
think about what she reads to give her reflections to the class. Keep it up
Enya!

Anra is respectful and considerate. He has perseverance and diligence to


finish his tasks on time. He listens to the ideas and opinions of others without
interrupting them; yet he rarely expresses and discusses his thoughts and
feelings in class. He can read words and sentences but needs to work on his
voice and is required to read more books to increase his speed and
comprehension. He can compose several related sentences when writing;
yet, he needs to be aware of the following: capitalization, punctuation and
spelling.

Niki uses common sense to problem solve independently and positively. She is
an active listener and participant during small and large group discussions.
She can compose several related sentences and shows self-confidence in
writing. She is able to do good spelling and building of sufficient vocabulary.
She can read words and sentences well; however, she needs to work on her
voice and develop her communication and speaking skills. Keep up the
good job Niki!

Nadia is a responsible and considerate learner and classmate. She is eager


to learn more and has a good work ethics. She listens attentively and speaks
appropriately in small and large group interactions. She can anticipate and
predict when listening to texts read aloud. She is able to share her own
feelings and discuss personal experiences that connect with visual images.
Although Nadia puts a great deal of time and effort into her writing, she still
needs to develop her speed in doing her tasks especially in this skill. Keep it
up Nadia!

Yuta shows commitment and independently does his tasks. He does neat
and thorough work. He completes activities in a timely manner and has
good work ethics; however, he often talks at inappropriate times. He can
anticipate and predict when listening to read aloud and can read long
sentences but sometimes still confuses words that look alike. He puts a great
deal of time and effort in doing his writing and finishes it on a timely manner.
He is able to view information and show understanding by asking relevant
questions and discuss the possible meaning. Keep it up, Yuta!

Rishi makes a sincere effort in doing his tasks in the written language. He
completes activities in a timely manner and asks questions and clarification
when needed. He can read words and sentences; yet he needs more feeling
and intonation. However, he requires additional effort in presenting and
sharing his thoughts and feelings in class. Moreover, he requires practicing
more in writing legibly and work on his application of the writing conventions
such as capitalization, organization and punctuation. Keep it up Rishi!

Keziah enjoys conversing with friends and she can read words and
sentences. She chooses books that are just right up her grade level and reads
for pleasure and information. She needs to put more feeling and intonation
when reading and increase her speed and comprehension skills. She can
compose several related sentences and spell words easily. However, she
needs to work on capitalization and punctuation. Moreover, she is
encouraged to level up her self-confidence to share her unique ideas in front
of the class. Keep it up, Keziah!

I’m glad David is eager to participate in class discussions, yet he needs to


raise his hand when he has something to say. Oftentimes, he has a lot of
inquiries and information that he shares to his friends. He can read and has a
good reading comprehension as well. He is able to write with correct spelling
of the words and he can present his work in front of the class for a very short
time. He often talks about something else; consequently, requiring continued
guidance and support from the shadow teacher to maintain his focus with his
tasks and to avoid disturbing others. Keep it up David!
Ziva effectively participates in a range of conversations with diverse partners.
She is an active listener and an important member of group discussion. She
asks questions and seeks clarification when needed. She chooses books that
are just right in her grade level and reads for pleasure and information. She
needs to put more feeling and intonation when reading. She is able to use
descriptive language that allows her audience to clearly visualize what is
being written. However, she needs to work on her spelling, capitalization and
punctuation. Keep it up Ziva!

Adil listens attentively and frequently speaks appropriately in small and large
group interactions. He anticipates and predicts when listening to text read
aloud. He only shares his ideas and expresses his thoughts and feelings if the
teacher asks him. He can read and choose books that are at his reading
level. However, he needs to develop his comprehension and speed in
reading. He needs to boost his self-confidence in speaking and sharing more
in class. Keep it trying Adil!

Nabila asks and answers questions that frequently demonstrate


understanding. She accepts responsibility well but sometimes requires further
understanding and guidance with her comprehension skills. She likes reading
and selecting books for pleasure and information. In writing, she always asks
the teacher first before she writes to make it sure that her spellings are all
correct. She can express and share her ideas, thoughts and opinions in class.
She wonders about texts and ask questions to try to understand what the
author is saying. Keep it up Nabila!

Daffa has a strong self-confidence in speaking and expressing himself in class


and/or during discussion. He really likes to speak a lot but sometimes he
needs to choose and think first of what he has to say. He uses language to
explain, inquire and compare. He can read and write simple words and
sentences; yet he requires further practice with his application of writing
conventions such as capitalization, organization, punctuation, spelling,
including legible penmanship and grammar techniques.
Louise listens attentively during discussions. She puts effort when doing her
tasks, submits and finishes it on time. She enjoys reading, writing and spelling
in the class. She can read simple words and sentences and is able to choose
the right book with little guidance. For her future, I would like to encourage
Louise to be more confident in speaking her mind in front of the class. With
continuous support from parents and the school, I am sure that Louise will
perform greater in the future.

Amulya is an enthusiastic learner and shows positive attitudes towards our


learning engagements in English. Her homework is returned on time and is
well done. She listens attentively and speaks appropriately in small and large
group interactions. She uses familiar aspects of written language with
increasing confidence and accuracy especially with high frequency words.
She enjoys, reading, writing and spelling in the class. Sometimes, Amulya is
easily distracted by her friends and is reminded to focus on her task
consistently.

Bella is a shy type; yet a well–mannered girl who can manage her feelings
and emotions in the classroom. She reacts appropriately in adverse situations.
She shares ideas frequently and rarely asks and answers questions that
demonstrate understanding. She is able to write; yet she needs to work on her
spelling and punctuation. Moreover, she should have further practice in
reading and speaking audibly in front of the class.

Anesta enjoys conversing with her friends and teachers. She is able to
contribute to discussion and shares her opinions and feelings with
confidence. She likes reading and spelling in the class. She can work
independently; however, she is advised to work on her application of writing
conventions such as punctuation, capitalization, organization and spelling.
She requires guidance to remain focused and complete tasks.

Javier has an ability to do his tasks correctly if he puts more effort and remain
focused on his work. He can read words and sentences but sometimes; he
gets confused words that look alike. He needs to develop reading with
expression and intonation. His handwriting needs to be improved through
considerable practice in letter formation, directionality, spacing, joining of
the letters and spelling. I strongly suggest that he needs to boost his self-
confidence to share his ideas, feelings and present his work in front of the
class. Keep on trying Javier!
