B. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

1) Mobile Crane is provided with markings of the

Safe Working Load.

2) Safe access and egress are provided to the

crane operator.

3) A load capacity chart is displayed in the

operator cabin.

4) Operator crane cabin is provided with a locking

mechanism so as to prevent unauthorised entry.

5) Fire extinguisher is provided in the operator

cabin.

6) Operation and Maintenance log book is

available.

7) Manufacturer Operating / Maintenance Manual

are made available.

C. OTHER VISUAL CHECK

1) Load charts and other symbols are available

and visible.

2) Hydraulic fluid level is sufficient.

3) Slewing oil level is sufficient.

4) All mounting bolts are in good condition.

5) Hydraulic system is free of leaks.

6) Boom sections are free of cracks or dents.

7) Main and auxiliary wire ropes are well

lubricated and there are no visible defects such as
broken wires, kinks, excess wear, crushing etc.

8) Winches, pulleys and wire ropes are in good

working condition.

9) Crane hook is provided with a safety latch to

prevent displacement of the sling or load from the
hook.

D. SAFETY & OPERATIONAL DEVICES

1) A load radius indicator with warning alarm is

installed.

2) An effective hoist and derricking braking

mechanism are maintained.

3) A swing lock or swing brake capable of

preventing
unintended rotation is functional.

4) Limit switch to prevent over-hoisting of the

hook (i.e. anti-two block device) is functional.

5) Limit switch to prevent over-derricking of boom

is functional.

6) Load Moment Limiter to prevent over-turning

moment is functional.

E. MAINTENANCE

1) Mobile Crane has a regular maintenance

programme that is in accordance with
manufacturer’s specifications.

2) Maintenance work on the Mobile Crane is

carried out by Competent Persons.
