In my history class, I learned that many people think that British people found out about curry
when they travelled to India in 1660. However, our teacher told us that wealthy English people
were eating curry dishes before British ships got to India. Also, I learned that pizza was made in
Persia in the 500s. They used to eat round, flat bread with cheese before Italian prepared the pizza
that everyone knows.

Además, me enteré
Linkin Park have released their first official statement after the death of frontman Chester
Bennington last week. "Our hearts are broken. The shock waves of grief and denial are still
sweeping through our family as we come to grips with what has happened," it read.
"You touched so many lives, maybe even more than you realised," it continued. Bennington's body
was found at a private home in Los Angeles on Thursday. The LA County Coroner said he
apparently hanged himself.
He had previously struggled with addiction and had spoken to BBC Newsbeat about depression
and suicide.
By BBC news
1. Robert Langdon’s Saab 900S tore out of the Callahan Tunnel and emerged on the east side of
Boston Harbor near the entrance to Logan Airport. Checking his directions Langdon found Aviation
Road and turned left past the old Eastern Airlines Building. Three hundred yards down the access
road a hangar loomed in the darkness. A large number “4” was painted on it. He pulled into the
parking lot and got out of his car.
2. A round-faced man in a blue flight suit emerged from behind the building. “Robert Langdon?”
he called. The man’s voice was friendly. He had an accent Langdon couldn’t place. “That’s me,”
Langdon said, locking his car.
3. “Perfect timing,” the man said. “I’ve just landed. Follow me, please.” As they circled the
building, Langdon felt tense. He was not accustomed to cryptic phone calls and secret rendezvous
with strangers. Not knowing what to expect he had donned his usual classroom attire — a pair of
chinos, a turtleneck, and a Harris tweed suit jacket. As they walked, he thought about the fax in his
jacket pocket, still unable to believe the image it depicted.
4. The pilot seemed to sense Langdon’s anxiety. “Flying’s not a problem for you, is it, sir?”
“Not at all,” Langdon replied. Branded corpses are a problem for me. Flying I can handle. The man
led Langdon the length of the hangar. They rounded the corner onto the runway. Langdon stopped
dead in his tracks and gaped at the aircraft parked on the tarmac. “We’re riding in that?”
5. Langdon stared a long moment. “Like it? What the hell is it?”
The craft before them was enormous. It was vaguely reminiscent of the space shuttle except that
the top had been shaved off, leaving it perfectly flat. Parked there on the runway, it resembled a
colossal wedge. Langdon’s first impression was that he must be dreaming. The vehicle looked as
airworthy as a Buick. The wings were practically nonexistent — just two stubby fins on the rear of
the fuselage.
6. A pair of dorsal guiders rose out of the aft section. The rest of the plane was hull — about 200
feet from front to back — no windows, nothing but hull.
7. “Two hundred fifty thousand kilos fully fueled,” the pilot offered, like a father bragging about
his newborn. “Runs on slush hydrogen. The shell’s a titanium matrix with silicon carbide fibers. She
packs a 20:1 thrust/weight ratio; most jets run at 7:1. The director must be in one helluva a hurry
to see you. He doesn’t usually send the big boy.”
A trescientas
3. "Tiempo perfecto", dijo el hombre. "Acabo de aterrizar. Sígueme, por favor. Mientras rodeaban
el edificio, Langdon se sintió tenso. No estaba acostumbrado a llamadas telefónicas crípticas y
Él no suele
enviar al niño grande ".

Although the history of Manchester stretches back to Roman [Times], when a small settlement
grew up around the Roman fort known as Mamuciam, it was not until the later [Years] of the
eighteenth century that it became a population center of any great magnitude. Records indicate
the [Population ] grew from 10,000 to approaching 80,000 in just a few decades, increasing to
around 150,000 by the Industrial Revolution, which saw its transformation into the country’s and
the world’s leading industrial [Metropolis]. The engine for this change was cotton, which began
to be imported [Via ] the port of Liverpool and which was delivered by canal to Manchester in the
latter part of the eighteenth [Century]. The rapid and profitable boom in textile manufacture saw
the streets of Manchester and surrounding towns become home to huge numbers of cotton mills,
textile print works and engineering workshops. The expansion of transport links facilitated this
[Development]. In 1824, one of the world’s first public omnibus services began in Manchester,
quickly followed in 1830 by the opening of the first steam passenger railway linking Liverpool
and Manchester.
1. The next morning he didn’t appear for breakfast either. After Clyde missed and extra-
special lunch, she called the police.
2. When the police asked her to describe Clyde, she told him that Clyde had beautiful green
eyes, had all his teeth but missing half of his left ear, and was seven years old and
completely white. She then told the officer that Clyde was about a foot high.
3. A bell went off. “Is clade your child or your pet?” The officer suspiciously asked. “Well,
he’s my cat, of course,” Mrs. Brown replied. “Lady, you’re supposed to report missing
persons, not missing cats,” said the irritated policeman. “Well, who can I report this to”
she asked. “You can’t. You have to ask around your neighborhood or put up flyers,”
replied the officer.
4. Mrs. Brown figured that a billboard would work a lot better than an 8”x11” piece of paper
on a telephone pole. There was an empty billboard at the end of her street just off the
interstate highway. The billboard had a phone number on it. She called that number, and
they told her they could blow up a picture of Clyde and put it on the billboard for all too
see.
5. “But how can people see it when they whiz by on the interstate?” she asked. “Oh, don’t
worry, madam, the only whiz by between 2 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. The rest of the day, the
interstate is so full of commuters that no one moves.” They told her it would cost only
$3,000 a month. So she took most of the money out of her saving account and rented the
billboard for a month.
6. The month has passed, but Clyde has not appeared. Because she has almost no money
in savings, Mrs. Brown called the local newspaper to see if anyone could help her rent the
billboard for just one more month. She is waiting but, so far, no one has stepped forward.
