CRASH COURSE IN PUNJABI AS SECOND/FOREIGN


LANGUAGE
Department of Linguistics & Punjabi Lexicography
For Sessions 2017, 2018 & 2019 Examination

Time: 3 hours Total Marks: 100 (Each Course)


Pass Marks: 35%

OUTLINES OF COURSE

1. There are four courses in Crash Course in Punjabi (as Second/Foreign Language)
Teaching.
2. All lessons combine intensive conversational exercises.

Course-I : Gurumukhi Script


Course-II : Word & Sentence Structure of Punjabi Language
Course-III : Social Perspective of Punjabi Community
Course-IV : Cultural Perspective of Punjabi Society

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PAPER SETTER

1. Each question paper will consist of 25 (Twenty Five) questions. It will consist of short
answer type/objective type questions covering the entire syllabus. Each question will
carry 4 marks.
2. The paper setter should use simple and precise language while setting the question
paper and should avoid the ambiguous Punjabi vocabulary. The Standard English
translation of Punjabi vocabulary should be given in brackets wherever required.
3. The question paper should be set strictly as per given syllabus.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES


1. Candidate has to attempt the questions in Punjabi Language.

Introduction to Gurumukhi Script: Use of Laga-Matras & Accessory Signs.

Rituals; Traditional Costumes and Foods.
Vocabulary Development Drills related to the above topics will be made to synchronize
learning with actual events as far as possible.
