Here at the SAE Institute we’re proud of our successful and
innovative background. Having grown in number and now

The SAE Institute was established in 1976 as the world’s first
audio engineering school. SAE has since expanded and has

Of course audio engineering is still a very important part of what

As a freelance engineer and producer I have been lucky

Jose “Hyde” Cotto
(Graduate SAE Miami)
Jose “Hyde” Cotto has picked up another Grammy. This
time he has won the Grammy for his work recording and
mixing Daddy Yankee’s latest album “Barrio Fino”. Jose
has also had a Grammy nomination for Vico C’s album,
“Desahogo”. Added to this, Jose has worked on three
albums that have now gone Double Platinum.

Right after finishing my Audio Engineering Diploma
in April 06 I had the opportunity to help with the audio
post production for the feature film ‘All the Boys Love
Mandy Lane’ under Michael Baird in L.A. for Occupant
Films. This movie had its premiere in September 06 at
the Toronto Film Festival and was bought by Harvey
Weinstein (a major film producer).
In summer 06 I was Production Sound Mixer for an
Austrian art film entitled ‘die toten körper der lebenden’
by Peter Kern in Vienna which had its premiere in March
07 at the Diagonale. In september/October 06 I had the
opportunity to mix production sound for the movie ‘The
Key Man’, with renowned actor such as Jack Davenport
(Pirates of the Caribbean), Brian Cox (X-Men), Hugo
Weaving (Matrix, Lord of the Rings), Carol Kane and
Judy Greer.
