A DEEPER MEANING OF “WALKING IN THE SPIRIT”
Our example is found in 1 Samuel 9. In this chapter, Saul was
sent by his father to find some runaway donkeys. Taking a
servant with him, Saul searched throughout the lands of
Ephraim, Shalim, Benjamin and Zuph. Finally, he got
discouraged and was ready to give up the hunt. But then his
servant told him about Samuel, a prophet; maybe he could tell
him where to find the donkeys. On this occasion, I see Saul as a
type of believer who seeks direction only. All he had in mind
was: "Where are my donkeys? Where should I go? I'm at my
wits' end!" Meanwhile, God had already told Samuel that a
young man was going to come to him, and that he was to anoint
him. Samuel here is a type of the Holy Spirit, who knows the
mind of God; he has more on his mind than just direction. He
knows Saul has been chosen by God to play a part in heaven's
eternal purpose! The first thing Samuel did when Saul arrived
was to call for a feast: "go up before me unto the high place;
for ye shall eat with me to day, and tomorrow I will let thee
go, and will tell thee all that is in your heart" (1 Samuel
9:19).
This is exactly what the Holy Spirit desires of us: to sit at the
Lord's Table and minister to Him -- having quality time alone,
hearing His heart. Samuel asked Saul to clear his mind so they
could commune together: "And as for your asses that were lost
three days ago, set not thy mind on them; for they are
found..." (verse 20).
Samuel was saying, "Don't focus on getting direction now --
that's all settled. There's something more important at hand.
You've got to know God's heart -- His eternal purpose!" Samuel
laid a whole shoulder of meat before Saul, and they spent time
communing: "And Samuel communed with Saul upon the top
of the house" (verse 25). After that night of communion,
Samuel asked Saul to send his servant out of the room, so they
could have an intimate, face-to-face session: "Bid the servant
pass on before us... but stand thou still a while, that I may
show thee the word of God. Then Samuel took a vial of oil,
and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it
not because the Lord hath anointed thee to be captain over
his inheritance?" (1Sam.9:27; 10:1).
Do you see what God is saying here? "If you really want to walk
in the Spirit -- if you really want My anointing -- you need to
seek more than direction from Me. You need to come into My
presence and get to know My heart, My desires! You see, I want
to anoint you -- to use you in My kingdom!"
Beloved, forget direction -- forget everything else for now!
Allow the Holy Spirit to teach you the deep, hidden things of
God. Stand still in His presence, and let Him show you the very
heart of the Lord. That is the walk of the Spirit in its highest
form! When you do this, direction will come -- and you won't
even have to ask!
When we spend deeper times in the presence of the Lord we will
be able to show Christ to a lost world: “We faint not… but by

the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to
every man's conscience in the sight of God” 2Cor.4:1-2
The Apostle Paul is clearly telling us that we are called to
proclaim the truth. We know that Jesus Christ is the Truth,
so with other words we have to proclaim Christ before the
world. Paul is referring here to a visible revelation, a shining
light, something clear and easy to understand (as your face is
shining because of His light). We are called to reveal
Christ before people, easy for everyone to understand it.
Our life has to shine before the world even as Christ himself.
Apostle Paul says that we are God’s epistles to the world:
“Ye are our epistle, written in our hearts, known and
read of all men; being made manifest that ye are an
epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink,
but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of
stone, but in tables that are hearts of flesh” 2Cor 3:2-3
Our lives are epistles written by the Holy Spirit and sent
to a lost world, which are always read by people around
us. The question is: how can we become God’s epistles in
the world? This is possible only through the work of the
Holy Spirit. When we are saved the Holy Spirit is engraving
in us the image of Jesus Christ and He will continue to work
in us as long as we live. The Holy Spirit will create in us a
true and accurate image of Christ which will pierce people’s

International General Assembly
At the Pre-Assembly Chaplains’ Conference, our beloved
brother Dr. Robert Crick announced his
retirement. The festivity to honor him was
four hours long. Dr. Robert Crick served
his Lord, his country and the Church with
great results, and actually after he served
over 50 years as a Chaplain now he
continues his service as a Professor and
President of the new foundation Called
“Outside the Gates”.
We witnessed the tribute that was paid to Bob and Jeanette
Crick and to his faithful family.
Retired and active Chaplains gave their military salute. (Dr.

This unique man of God and superior officer loves
Romanians and he remains a decorated hero of America and
of our fellowship. (IJB)

Besides bricks and mortar, we are exited to see this Chaplain
Center fully operational. Our special thanks to everyone who
sacrificed for this special construction which will serve our
Chaplain Organization and other needs, for many years to

MISSION TO AFRICA Between August 6th and 21st, by
the grace of the Lord a group of 22 brothers and sisters went
to a mission to Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda. As we arrived
to Nairobi we divided in 5 groups. Sunday I ministered to
Deliverance Church in the Unity neighborhood. The fist
church service started at 7:00 AM. We went to the second
service which started at 9:00 AM and we stayed there until
the end of the third service at 2:00 PM. I ministered on the
third service. We never saw so much noise at the end of one
service and the start of another one, when 2,500 people were
going out and even more people than these coming in. So
much rush in the house of the Lord.
I never saw such of worship, noisy and with all heart: soul,
spirit and body. Apostle John Brown Masinte, the pastor of
the church preached about tithing. Tithing belongs to the
Lord (Lev.27:30). Reading in the Bible, we see many things
being done differently, like collecting the offerings.
Everybody had to bring the offering before the
congregation (Mat.5:23, Luke 21:1), ushers were not going
around to collect offerings (to be continued).

ANDHRA, INDIA We are very sad to learn about the death
of your brother in law (Vasile Chimuca). Please send our
sincere condolences to this family.
I send you here a picture with children from the orphanage in
Andhra, who are helping with the construction of the
cafeteria (latrinei). Please help us that we can help the
helpless. Now we need monthly $30 for each child. So far
we don’t have long term sponsors for the 20 children from
this orphanage. If anybody wants to sponsor 2, 3 or more
children we would much appreciate it. Please publish this
new information about Orissa and the orphanage in your

KALKUTA, INDIA (continuation – Liviu Vlad) Pray for me that
God will give me strength. I am so alone and it’s not easy. It is the
first time when I travel by myself without to know anybody, and
second I have to be here for two months, the longest trip in my life.
I have also some other challenges:
the heat, the lodging and specially the food which is very, very
spicy. I tried it second day after my arrival and I felt like my
tongue was burning. I also need a divine anointing for the ministry
before me, for these two months. I thank you for your support and
for your prayers. May God bless you!
I saw things that made me to tremble; I couldn’t believe what I was
seeing. One night I was praying for the poverty and the misery
from Bihar. Somehow I was arguing with God, why he allowed
something like this, but right after this I tasted what God feels for
these people. I felt so much pain; His heart was so sad and I heard
Him saying: “I had a different purpose for them. I gave them life
for much more than this, but they turned their back to me and they
always refuse me”. Then something broke within me and I started
to cry, as I didn’t do it for a long time. He was so sad and hurting
for the suffering of these people, but He had nothing to do as they
refuse Him. The most important two things I learned here were:
first, how little they know about God and also I saw things of God
that made me fall on my face and remain speechless. I couldn’t do
anything more that to cry as a baby before Him, and second, I
realized how important is for people to see the Fruit of the Holy
Spirit in us. You can tell and speak to people as long as you want,
but when they look closely to you and to your life they have to see
something godly. They are very good on detecting “Christians of
Sunday”, and they don’t like them. They are thirsty for something
real. Pray for me as I am scheduled to preach in different places. I
need power, anointing and wisdom, to use the best words and
examples that they may understand it. I need to speak with power
and also with love.
I want people to feel and to see the love of God in my messages
and in my life. I end my letter here, and I ask our Heavenly Father
to be always with you. Short Term Mission is wonderful. God
