INTRODUCTION
1.1 GENERAL
This calculation report summarizes the design parameters adopted, catchment area
calculated and detailed calculations for each drain in development of the proposed MIXED-USE
COMMERCIAL & RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT COMPRISING 2-STOREY SHOPPING PODIUM WITH 3
BASEMENT CARPARKS, 11 BLOCKS OF 11-STOREY RESIDENTIAL FLATS. The approach and design
concept adopted shall comply with relevant statutory requirements.
The proposed project is located at UPPER ALJUNIED ROAD / BIDADARI PARK DRIVE comprising 2-
storey shopping podium with 3 basement carparks, 11 blocks of 11-storey residential flats (667
units) with swimming pool & communal facilities, commercial bridge with airspace across bidadari
park drive, airspace / subterranean connections to woodleigh village & integrated with community
club & neighbourhood police centre.
The site is located along Upper Serangoon Road, adjacent to existing Woodleigh MRT Station and
bounded by the two junctions between Upper Serangoon Road and Upper Aljunied Road. Upper
Aljunied Road is currently undergoing realignment work by HDB. The proposed development site
is as shown in Figure 1.1 below and the site is generally vacant.

However, there are several buildings surrounding the site which are undergoing construction.
These consist of Public Housing Integrated with Hawker Centre and Bus Interchange under BTO
(Woodleigh Village), Bidadari Park and Alkaff Lake, Public Housing (Alkaff Court View) and the
realignment of Aljunied Road. Nearly half of site is within the LTA Railway Safety Zone. From
the topographical survey, the project site is located on a sloping terrain from RL118.19m to
RL113.18m, approximately 5m difference in level. The site is generally higher at northwest side
and southeast side, and lower at northeast side and southwest side.
