Take your own organization and then critically assess
a. the trends and practice of decision making considering the
decision making process. b. the flow of communication as well as how the 7 C’s are practiced / exercised.
Group Assignment (20%)
1. Taking one of the group members organization, critically evaluate
how the five management functions (Planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling) are exercised / practiced within the organization. Support your discussion with examples. 2. Visiting one woreda administration office or one of the offices at woreda level at your nearby Sub-City of AA or Finfinie Zone of Oromia; then a. Assess how the leadership styles practiced in the selected organization by gathering information (opinions) from the heads/ leaders of the selected organization, the employees of the selected organization, and the community (take at least 20 people from different social categories, i.e. men, women, youth, etc..) b. Assess which types of power are usually exercised. c. Identify the common good leadership qualities of the administrators/ leaders. d. Mention some common unethical qualities of the leaders of the selected organization at top level, middle level and lower level.
Note: Each group should take separate woreda administration
or woreda office.
