GENERAL INFORMATION

DESCRIPTION:

 The Centennial Concert Hall is a large, well


equipped, proscenium theatre, built in 1967.

 It is located directly across the street from


City Hall, in the heart of Winnipeg’s Theatre
District.

 The hall is also the permanent residence of


the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Manitoba
Opera and the Winnipeg Symphony
Orchestra.

LOBBY:

 Large spacious lobbies on three (3) levels.

 Services: Ushers, ticket takers, coat checking


beverage services and 24 hour security.

 Facility is accessible to disabled persons.

 Paging, program sound & video is available.

 Lobby areas are available for meetings and


receptions. Catering is also available.

STAGE LIFTS / ORCHESTRA SHELL

There are 2 hydraulic lifts in front of the stage.


They can be used for the following:

 Seating, (at auditorium level)


 Apron, (at stage level)
 Orchestra Pit, (below auditorium floor)

Lift #1:
58' wide x 14' deep - Rows 1 - 3 - (82 seats)

Lift #2:
64' wide x 7' deep - Rows 4 & 5 - (62 seats)

Orchestra Pit: (using Lift #1 and #2) – accommodates approximately 96 musicians plus piano &
full percussion. Remove rows 1-5 (144 seats). Note: seats store under the stage.

STAGE RIGGING

The Stage is equipped with 3 semi-permanent lighting bridges and a 55 line-set counterweight
system. The Stage is also equipped with a ‘house hang’ of drapery and lighting as specified on
the ‘Line-Set Schedule’. If you need to alter the ‘house hang’, arrangements must be made in
advance, and all items must be restored after the event, at the expense of the licensee.

COUNTERWEIGHT SYSTEM

Type: Single Purchase Counterweight - (SR wall).


Number of sets: 55 total - 5 lift lines each.
Line-Set Capacity: 1200 Lbs. each.
Line-Set Centers: 8 Inch - (See Line-Set Schedule).
Pipes: 12” flat aluminum truss, - 72 Ft. long - (1.90” O.D. pipe).
Fly Floor: SR - Catwalk at 28' above Stage Floor.
Pin Rail: SR - at Fly Floor.
Hand Lines: 3/4" New England Synthetic (Super-Set) rope.
Loading Floor: SR - Catwalk at Grid, above Fly Floor.
Grid Height: 85'-0" - (Stage Floor To Underside of Grid).
High pipe trims: 77’-0” -except sets 7-10 (above SR door) are: 69’-9”.
Weights: 20,000 Lbs. available, (in addition to pipe Wt.).

Bridges may be removed and stored,

SOUND

The Sound Booth is located between the 1st


and 2nd Balconies. (see photo at right)

Although the Sound Booth has direct ‘line of


sight’ to the center cluster loudspeaker system,
it does not provide an ideal mix position
representing the majority of audience
members (on the main floor).

We recommend that professional touring


productions consider using our ‘mix position’ at
the rear of the main floor. (see below)

TOURING (HOUSE MIX) POSITIONS

Our House Mix position is located at the rear of the Auditorium on the Main Floor This position is
typically used for sound & lighting consoles for professional touring shows.

Typically Lighting cables run to the Electrics Room DSR – 250’ and Audio cables runs to the
Sound Room DSL – 250’ The maximum area available is 4’-6” deep x 40’-0” wide, as shown by
the drawing below:

INTERCOM

Intercom and Clearcom – feeds to all production locations


Headset System:
 wired units: 20 headsets and 15 belt packs
 wireless units: 8 (Tempest) units – with headset and belt packs
 no dry-lines are available

The facility does not own projectors, screens or other related equipment. Please consult the
