Expedición Atlantis-Cádiz 1973

Entrevista Exclusiva
Débora Goldstern

1. As you once said, in 1973 when you were 19 years old you embarked with an expedition,
commanded by the scholar Máxine Asher, to search for Atlantean vestiges in the area of Cádiz,
Spain. And Corby asked you, how did you come to be part of that mythical group?

2. Let's say that the Atlantis-Cadiz Expedition 1973 arises thanks to the efforts of the University of
Pepperdine, being perhaps the first time that an academic institution, it is decided to tackle an
enigma as controversial as Atlantis. I understand, we are talking about a more open time and
discussion about these mysteries, and that today it would be difficult to replicate. Do you suppose
this factor "decade of opening", influenced to carry out that exotic investigation, where these
subjects were not seen as censored as it happens at present?

3. In 1968, a revealing discovery was made by the great North American oceanographer Manson
Valentine, who re-popularized Atlantis with the discovery of the Bimini road. However, your
expedition decided to cross the Atlantic to conduct research in Spanish waters. What were the
reasons for that decision, taking into account the proximity of the findings that were being made
in Central American waters?

4. When reviewing the list of participants in the Atlantis-Cadiz 1973 expedition, highlights Gayle
Cayce, granddaughter of Edgar Cayce, the so-called sleeping prophet, famous for his psychic
readings of Atlantis, which suggests a group focused on the study of the continent lost, from a
more esoteric área. What memories do you have of your contact with Gayle, and if she even told
you anecdotes about her legendary grandfather?

5. During his Spanish stay, the 1973 Atlantis-Cádiz Expedition was involved in many controversies,
as reflected in the press in several of its owners. Rumors of all kinds were spread among them
accusations of espionage by the Spanish government, which although initially showed interest in
exploration, then decided to confront. How did you live these episodes so conflicting, that led to
an early interruption of the Expedition, and if you think there was some kind of conspiracy that
forced to silence the issue?

6. Another of the sensitive issues, has to do with the alleged remains recovered by the Expedition,
in the waters of Cádiz. There are allegations that those vestiges, would be remnants of Roman and
Phoenician manufacture, and very far from the supposed Atlantean vestiges. What is your current
position regarding this controversy?
7. There are many mysteries regarding Maxine Asher, especially for her psychic claims, and the
role she always claimed to have in regards to Atlantean revelations. Many scholars seem to deny
their role as an important researcher as far as Atlantis, pointing out, as someone untrustworthy.
Do you believe this vision unjust, and if you think Maxine Asher, should be rescued as a pioneer
in this field, beyond some mistakes ?

8. Last year the prestigious James Cameron presented his documentary, The Resurgence of
Atlantis, which included the Gulf of Cadiz, as well as other sites, as one of the probable Atlantean
settlements. Somehow this expedition returns to the steps set by the Atlantis-Cadiz Expedition
1973. Do you suppose this initiative of Cameron, as a continuation of that idea or do you feel
something different?

9. The mystery of Atlantis is linked to one of the cursed places par excellence as is the enigmatic
Bermuda Triangle, where many explorers, such as Manson Valentine, Turolla Pine, Richard
Wingate, among other famous atlantologists denounced Atlantean vestiges under its waters .
Personally, what is your opinion about this mystery, which reached great popularity through the
books of Charles Berlitz?

10. You were recently in South America, which many scholars assume is a continent closely linked
to the mystery of Atlantis. What is your position with respect to these claims?

11. Currently you provide work for NASA, who maintains a hard position on alien life, and where
the Atlantean myth also does not take place. Do you think this refusal can be altered one day?

12. Final and obligatory question. Corby Waste recommendations to all those seekers, who wish
to enter the mystery of Atlantis.

infinite thanks!
