WRITING ALGEBRAIC EXPRESSIONS

1. A campaign involves m boys and n girls . Each boy has to distribute x pamphlets while each girl has to
distribute y pamphlets to the public . What is the total number of pamphlets distributed to the public ?

2. A teacher has p boxes of pencils with 2n number of pencils in each box . She distributes a number of
pencils to each student in a class of 3b students. Find the remaining number of pencils that the teachers has .

3. A worker is paid RMx an hour for normal working hours and Rmy an hour for overtime. If he works 5v
normal working hours and 2w hours of overtime in a day , find his income for the day .

4. In making a dress , a tailor needs p hours in cutting and q hours in sewing . find the total number of hours
he needs to make n dress.

5. A boy has 2x packets of sweets with 3y sweets in each packet. If he eats 5m sweets a day , the number of
