Poetry Anthology
Criteria for the presentation of the Anthology:

• All poems must be either neatly printed or typed

• Design a complementary and attractive cover page

• Give your Anthology its own title

• Include a Table of Contents

• All paragraphs must be 50-75 words in length, informative, insightful and

include a Topic and Concluding sentence

• The organization of your Anthology is up to you, however it must be well-

labeled and clear

o You will present your Anthology to the class, reading out loud one of
your original poems and one other poem of your choosing. Be
prepared to answer questions about your selections. The class will
then have a Poetry Cafe where students can mingle and read each
other’s work in an open, gallery-like atmosphere.

Your Anthology must include:

• A collection of 2 of your own poems (polished final drafts – title, no errors,

etc.)

• A collection of 8 poems written by a published poet (however, you can

include one poem written by a classmate, if you choose). The criteria for
choosing your poems are:
1. Find a poem to take with you in your coffin. This poem must last
an eternity (timeless). Explain in a paragraph why it is a good
choice.
