◆This command draws contours based on the physical quantities of calculation steps at the nodes or elements in the
selected element set (refer to the model display partial selection (SELECT-M) command for the selection method).
[Function]
(1) The contour drawing is available in three types: FILL (color-filled), LINE (only lines), and both FILL and LINE.
<Operating procedure>
FILL : ①→② → ③ → ⑥
LINE : ①→④→⑤→⑥
Both : ①→②→③→④→⑤ →⑥
(2) Contours can be drawn based on physical quantities at nodes or elements.
In case of contour display for nodes, smoothed lines are used to show the average values of adjacent elements.
(3) On a deformed geometry, contours can be displayed together with the visible outline of the geometry before deformation.
※ Deformation scale factor must have been set previously using the deformed geometry display (DEFORM) command.
<Operating procedure for the deformed geometry display (DEFORM) command>
①→② → ③ → ④
(4) For the types of physical quantities which can be output, refer to Table A (shown later on Page 9).
(5) The contour range can be changed when drawing contours.
※ This function is supported in V2010 or later. Refer to the release notes for details.
(6) A transient calculation result (two or more steps) or a single step can be displayed as animation by linearly interpolating between Step
0 and Step 1 with the number of animation frames.

In the case of chronological tracking, animation at the time which is not saved is shown by linearly
interpolating between the analysis results before and after that time.

15. Virtual Strain Gauge (VS-GAUGE) 102
◆ This command calculates and displays stress values in the selected element set (refer to the model display partial
selection (SELECT-M) command for the selection method), assuming that a strain gauge is attached.
[Function]
(1) Assuming that a strain gauge is attached on an arbitrary element or the surface of the model of the analysis result data,
this command calculates and displays the stress value corresponding to this gauge position and direction.
<Operating procedure>
①→②→③
(2) The following two types of calculation functions are available:
・Calculation of stresses at arbitrary positions by referring to stress values at nodes in global-coordinate-system
This function is available to all general analysis results.
Stress values have a slope within an element. Therefore, stress values vary depending on the positions within the same
element.
・Calculation of stresses when the effect of orthotropic material is set
A stress value is defined only by the element stress value when the above-mentioned effect is set by the Holw-MAT
command.
Therefore, within the same element, a stress changes depending only on the direction, and not on the position.
