PEDAGOGY:
The course aims at nurturing the natural inherent abilities in every student along with inculcating new
skills to meet present employability needs. Most of the objectives can be measured by observation
and practical exercise. Therefore an experiential pedagogy will be applied to develop the required
skill set. (Interactive teaching, Classroom training through communication labs, A/V techniques,
Role plays) The course strategy revolves around the three pillars of effective learning: Context-
Concept-Competence

CONTEXT - Each topic is preceded with a discussion on the business context and complexities to be
untangled while facing such situations in the real business word. The aim of this open discussion is to
familiarize the students with the objectives of including the said topic in the curriculum. The students
are thus able to adapt a macro view of the environment and provide a justification for the concept to
be discussed

CONCEPT: the core concepts, models and logic behind the topic in question are briefed to the
students. Care is taken while going through this phase so that the primary objective is not diluted

COMPETENCE: Based on the concepts discussed, real life case-lets are than provided to the
students for application purposes. The students are encouraged to logically evaluate the situations
provided before running into conclusions. More practice questions/situations are provided to students
for self-reading and practice

For any management graduate, working on spreadsheet solutions is considered to be a pre-requisite.

Based on the feedback received from my students in the last eight years and their experiences in the
industry, all CAM sessions are conducted in a WORKSHOP format

The students are presented with real life situations that require data analysis. As in a workshop, the
students are required to understand the situation provided and work out feasible plans to achieve the
laid down objectives

Self-learning and simulation based approach helps students to apply their skills in the real world.
