INTRODUCTION

Solar charger for cell phone functions on the basic principle of storing excess
quantity of solar energy. It functions with the assistance of solar panels, which are
one of the most significant components in them.

Benefit of this solar phone recharger is that it is very light, which enables
people to carry it along with them without any hitch. It is very beneficial at the time,
when the battery of your cellular telephone finishes and there is no electricity in your
home. The maximum benefit of solar cell phone charger is that it does not need
electricity, as it uses rays of the sun, which is in abundance for charging the cell
phone.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

1. Reduce power wastage

2. Creates a portable and easy to use product
3. To put solar power as the next main power source

OBJECTIVES

1. The battery charger is portable making it easy to bring anywhere.

2. Realizing the potential of solar power in today's world and as a viable source
for renewable alternative energy.
3. A way to save electrical energy in daily life usage.
SCOPE

This solar cell phone charger is a portable device which is use to recharging
cell phone battery. It can be used anywhere and anytime. This solar cell phone
charger was safely and we were used sophisticated and component of electronic. It is
also used the suitable circuit to ensure this project will be running out successfully.

However, this circuit is intended for using a low voltage cell to charge a
higher voltage battery. It cannot be use to charge a battery at the same or lower
voltage than the cells generate because this circuit needs a suitable battery load to
work properly.

CIRCUIT OF SOLAR CELL PHONE CHARGER

CIRCUIT OPERATION:

When the voltage on the emitter of Q1 rises a little over 1.5 volts, both
transistors turn on quickly, snapping on due to the positive feedback through R5 and
C2. The current increases in L1 through Q2 until the voltage across the cell drops
somewhat below 1.5 volts. The circuit then switches off quickly and the voltage on
the collector of Q2 jumps up, turning on D1, allowing the inductor current to flow
into the battery. Once the inductor has discharged into the battery, the process starts
over. The circuit can charge higher voltage batteries without any circuit changes
since the voltage will jump up quite high on the collector when the transistors turn
off. The circuit should not be operated without a battery attached. For a little more
efficiency, increase R5 in proportion to the voltage increase on the battery. (For
example, double R5 for charging a 12 volt battery.) A NiCad battery was chosen
because they are particularly forgiving of overcharging, simply converting the excess
current into heat.

CONCLUSION

A solar cell phone charger is an excellent way to keep cell phone batteries in
usable shape regardless of location. The use of energy from the sun for charging
needs ensures that electricity is not wasted.

Another benefit of this solar phone recharger is that it is very light, which
enables people to carry it along with them without any hitch. It is very beneficial at
the time, when the battery of your cellular telephone finishes and there is no
electricity in your home. The maximum benefit of solar cell phone charger is that it
does not need electricity, as it uses rays of the sun, which is in abundance for
charging the cell phone.
